I love "Love is a bitch" and "21 Grams", and I also like the latest "Tong Tian Pagoda" directed by Alejandro.

Compared with movies with similar techniques, my personal preference is that "Love is a bitch" is greater than "Tongtian Tower" than "Crash" is greater than "Magnolia".

Compared with "Love is a bitch" and "21 Grams", "Tongtian Pagoda" is more straightforward and has a clearer theme, but relatively speaking, there is less room for people to think. When I watched this movie, I remembered two articles that were completely unrelated to this movie.

One is "The Limits of Communication" written by Sisyphus. One is "Two Girls in the Subway" written by myself.

In addition, I am not going to talk about the theme of this movie, but rather want to talk about the deletion and modification of the public release version of "Tong Tian Pagoda".

Before I watched the original "Tong Tian Pagoda", I heard that someone proposed to add a mosaic when "Tong Tian Pagoda" was released. I was a little puzzled at the time. Is it possible to add mosaics for film screenings?

Later, I heard that the mosaic scheme was not able to be implemented, and the film still adopted the method of deletion.

After I watched the original "Tongtian Tower", I thought that this movie cannot be deleted.

After I watched the release version of "Tong Tian Pagoda", I realized that this version is not only a deletion, but also changes.

Two days ago, I heard that the media interviewed the audience who watched "Tongtian Tower" in the theater, and 80% of the audience did not feel that the movie was affected by any deletion.

I think this question is similar to asking rabbits about the taste of beef. In my opinion, anyone who has seen the original "Tongtian Pagoda" and likes the original "Tongtian Pagoda" will be angry at this revised version.

I want to review the deletions and changes in this version, but Scissorhands' Zhen Wushuang and Flurry are so powerful, I will inevitably miss a million, and I can only talk about what I am more impressed with.

In the first part of Qianezi's appearance, in the locker room, her friend Fat Girl asked her, why are you so bad-tempered. Another friend of hers with a nose ring interrupted Chieko and teased Chieko. Chieko replied, and the fat girl laughed. I can't remember what the dialogue in the public release version is like, it's a clean version anyway. In the original version, the woman with the nose ring said that her bad temper was because no one had sex with her. Qianezi said, I'll go to bed with your dad and vent my anger. This is the first time Chieko's loneliness has been linked to sex in the movie, but it has been tampered with.

Then in J-Pop, Chieko and the girl with the nose ring were left cold. In the toilet, Chieko said that they treated us as monsters, and then the story cut to Morocco. In fact, originally, Chieko took off her underwear, and then told her friends, I want them to see what a real hairy monster is. Then the two of them returned to their seats. Chieko kept staring at the boys on the opposite side, and slowly separated her thighs. The boys were horrified inexplicably. For Chieko whose communication has been cut off, sex is the most direct contact, not only her way but also her weapon.

Then, Chieko sees the dentist. As soon as Qianezi stuck her tongue out, the doctor drove her out. It seems that Japanese dentists respect and love themselves more than our scissors hands. However, in the original version, it was not so direct. Qianezi tried to kiss the dentist again and again, and then the dentist drove her away.

At the Mexican wedding, the groom's cousin became the king of children and took the children to catch chickens. He said to the children, I want someone to help, and Mike, the American kid, responded. The release version stopped abruptly, and the story turned to the other side. So what exactly did Mike help? In fact, the Mexican boy asked Mike to hold a chicken, then put the other chicken in the coop, and then turned around to retrieve the chicken from Mike. He carried the chicken, turning his hand quickly a few times, and lifting it up, the chicken's neck broke. The headless chicken fell on the ground as if it had been running a few steps, and a group of Mexican kids chased after it. Two American kids were terrified.

Qianezi returned home and waited for her friend, a girl with a nose ring, to pick her up. Before the two went out, a section of the release version was cut. In the original version, Chieko asked the nose ring girl, are you wearing underwear. Both of them tucked their skirts. This may be the most concealed deletion, but without this, the audience would not understand what kind of state Chieko was in after meeting the boys.

When meeting with the boys, the movie had one of the most bizarre cuts. Several girls took turns taking a few sips of whiskey, and then it was high. What kind of whiskey is this? It reminds me of the food that made Mega Ryan climax in "When Harry Meets Sally", everyone wants one. The whiskey in the original version did not have the power of this magical realism. In fact, they ate a soft drug similar to ecstasy. But I really don’t understand who I want to protect when I cut out soft drugs with Scissors. In the "Disciples" that was released at the same time, there are a large section of hard drugs.

Then in the disco, oh, there is no deletion here, but there is a very small bug, you can pay attention to it when watching "Tongtian Tower" in the future. The sound effects here alternately show Chieko's world, and the effect is very shocking. In fact, this is the part that makes me feel the most in the movie. All the subjective shots of Qianezi are silent here, and the close-ups of Qianezi's face are equipped with disco background music. After the first shot of a woman with a nose ring kissing, the original time was about 73 minutes. There is a shot of about a few seconds, which is a close-up of Chieko's face, and the voice is erased at the same time. This should be an error.

Then he waited for Qianezi to receive the detective in the room. The detective was about to leave, and Qianezi kept him for a while. The scissorhands started dancing around here. The detective saw the white cat slowly walking past, and the next shot was Qianezi standing naked in front of the detective. Following Magic Whiskey, the release version of "Tong Tian Pagoda" once again staged the surrealism of the white cat becoming a beautiful girl. This magical moment was once again disappointingly removed from the original version.

No, I shouldn't say this paragraph in a mocking tone. In this segment, actress Rinko Kikuchi’s performance is very moving and directly touches people’s hearts. Qianezi's complex emotions such as loneliness, depression, pain, fear, shame, persistence, stubbornness, courage, etc. burst out all over her. I believe this scene is an important reason why she won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress.

After that, at the US border, old Mexicans and American children fell into trouble. In the dialogue between the two in the release version, the old man said that they thought we had done something bad. The child said, this is not the case, you are not a bad person. The old man was very moved and said, yes, I am not a bad person, I just did something wrong. In fact, the child’s English pronunciation is standard and the grammar is simple. He clearly said "you are bad".

This is the one modification that makes me most angry. What are the scissors-hands thinking? It is very dangerous to treat children as angels. This is the line in "Magnolia". In fact, the shadows of the real world cast their hearts early in the morning. "Tongtian Tower" made a good example, but it was tampered with by the scissors hands. I would like to ask, what right do you have to tamper with other people's works, not only by deleting, but also by changing the content in a direction completely opposite to the original work!

The story returns to Japan, the Scissorhands are full of air pockets, and Zhen Wushuang Flurry starts again. Qianezi wrote a note and handed it to the detective. This was originally a very gentle shot, but because Chieko was not wearing any clothes, the Scissorhands had to cut the movie into three points without showing. So the smooth shots were cut into messy quick cuts. Completely disrupted the rhythm of the film itself.

Then the last shot of the movie, when Chieko's father returns home and walks to the balcony to see Chieko. Scissorhands here use their actions to prove that their standard is not only three points of non-exposure, but also that the nudity on the back is unacceptable.

In fact, I admit that "Tongtian Tower" is indeed not suitable for children to watch. But originally such a profound subject is not something children can understand. So it's still a matter of movie classification. Regarding the classification of movies, here is a reference article, the old man is more powerful.

In addition, "Tong Tian Pagoda" is a good example of the difference between nudity and obscenity. The flurry of our scissor-hands just shows the nasty in their hearts.

The scissor flurry also has some advantages. Comparing this release version with the original one can better understand the director's skill. For example, in the section where Qianezi was naked, the rhythm was very slow before, and then Qianezi suddenly accelerated the rhythm and ended with crying. Then there was a scene of guns confronting the father and son in Morocco, starting with the scene of crying, and when the second son surrendered, the rhythm changed again. slow. Then I switched to the scene where the music ended after the Mexican wedding, and then started slowly. It can be seen that the director's grasp of rhythm changes is very precise. The public release version destroyed this rhythm.
