T-34 movie viewing guide

Because I was a little moved when watching the part of the Moscow battle, there is no record. I stated before the article that I am not a German major, nor a professional researcher of World War II history. I only belong to ordinary war history lovers.

The following part may contain serious spoilers, please be careful.

Noteworthy details (it's so well done, it's really respect!!! There are really bright spots everywhere)

1. The color of the officer's uniform in the movie. Due to the different content of uniform wool produced by different factories at that time, there would indeed be different shades of results. Especially for officers-their uniforms are mostly custom-made, and the manufacturers that may be found are different; while soldiers are distributed collectively, and the colors of uniforms when enlisted in the army at a certain period of time will be more uniform.

2. Chest eagle/arm eagle. In order to distinguish, the SS uniforms will have an eagle logo on the upper arm, while the Wehrmacht only has an eagle logo on the chest. The uniforms of all Wehrmacht officers in the watchtower during training time were very up to standard.

3. Medal. According to observations, Jaeger has

Level 1 and Level 2 Iron Cross (Hanging on the neck at Level 1 and in the pocket at Level 2); Silver armored combat badge (three conditions need to be met: Participate in three armored assaults; perform well and be injured in one assault; get others in one assault Type Medal.); Eastern Front Frozen Meat Medal (issued on 1942.5.26, originally called the First Winter Combat Meritorious Medal); Gold Medal for War Wounds (awarded to personnel who were injured more than 5 times or were disabled or killed in combat)

But the iron cross on the adjutant of the concentration camp was only a second-level iron cross.

4. Jaeger’s rank is flag captain, his adjutant rank is first assault squadron captain (corresponding to the Wehrmacht rank as captain), and the concentration camp commander (the fat and bearded man) has the rank of second assault squadron captain (corresponding to the Wehrmacht). The rank is major)

5. They participated in the Battle of Moscow, which ended in January 1942. According to the snow and 35 kilometers away from Moscow, it can be judged to be between October and December. They belonged to Guderian’s Second Armored Army (the 24th Motorized Army’s 3rd and 4th Armored Divisions, and the 10th Motorized Infantry Division; the 47th Motorized Army’s 17th and 18th Armored Divisions; the 48th Motorized Army’s 9 Armored Division, 16th, 25th Motorized Infantry Division)

6. The rank of the Wehrmacht officer who appeared in the training was lieutenant general, and the other one standing behind him was a major general. On the lieutenant general's neck hung a first-class iron cross decorated with silver oak leaf double swords.

7. The German soldiers who fired (?) during the training were members of the Hitlersjungend. Due to the shortage of soldiers in the later period, the members of the Hitlersjungend were also sent to the battlefield after simple training.

8. In the process of escaping, the background sound of the German city where the T-34 crew arrived was "Erica", and according to the location of the concentration camp, the city should be Weimar, the eastern city of Germany. The ordinary policeman with his hands up followed the style of the pointed helmet during the First World War. It is normal to not have a Gestapo-there are so many secret police, but the publicity of the Security Bureau is frightening (?)

8. The armored units and infantry units brought by Jaeger used 88mm anti-aircraft guns to block them, which was originally used to fight planes. Marshal Rommel used it to bomb Allied tanks on the North African battlefield.

(88mm anti-aircraft gun, Long Mei ecstatic)

9. The lap of the runway and the non-stop running prisoners that appeared in the concentration camp showed the scene of having prisoners try their shoes in the concentration camp. The runway simulated all the road patterns that the German army might encounter in the European occupation area. Due to the low price of labor in the concentration camps, German shoe companies sent all kinds of new shoes they designed to the concentration camps. The prisoners "try shoe commandos" did a high-strength march on the runway for a long time to test the wear resistance of the soles and require heavy loads. Walk up to 3000 kilometers. Under normal circumstances, such a shoe trial is accompanied by a trial drug.

The translation error I recorded:

1. After the Battle of Moscow, before the instructor career of Captain Jaeger Banner: A senior official who looked like a Japanese, had black hair shaved into hazelnuts but combed into a center, wearing glasses, and a mustache accepted Jaeger The document in the hands of the comrade, the SS rank of this comrade is the national commander-in-chief (reichsführer-ss), the line is also pronounced like this, but the translation directly becomes "Himmler Lord" (it is Himmler, but this The translation is obviously inappropriate)

2. They mentioned "General Guderian", here we need to learn about the general ranks of the German Wehrmacht during World War II (Wehrmacht) starting from marshals to field marshals, generals, generals, lieutenants, and major generals; And Heinz-William-Guderian was a general in 1944, so it is obviously more suitable to translate as general.

3. A picture of a concentration camp appears, and the concentration camp is not "Turing" but "Thuringia" as used in the translation. It is the Buchenwald concentration camp, near the German city of Weimar (Weimar is the Weimar Republic after World War I Place of founding)

4. From the beginning, people in Russia referred to Germans as "Fritz". The translation of this term into "fascism" was obviously wrong. Just as the Germans call Slavs "Ivan", they just use common male names in the ethnic group to refer to people of a certain ethnic group.

5. The subtitles have repeatedly appeared name translation errors. For example, Nikolai's last name is "Ivshkin", and Ivshkin, who is chanted by the actor, has been translated into Nikolai many times. For Russians, whether the name or the last name is shouted represents a close relationship.

6. There have been many translation errors of military ranks in the subtitles. Jaeger belongs to the Waffen-SS. Although his rank corresponds to the colonel in the Wehrmacht system, he should not be called colonel, including the original line of the self-proclaimed stuandartenfüberraschend, which should be translated as the flag captain (with Shi Jili Comrade Ci’s military ranks are the same),)

7. Before training the Leopard tank driver, everyone followed the officer and shouted the slogan, "sieg heil" long live the victory, and the subtitles were directly translated into "heil hitler". The two are worlds apart and they have long ears. Everyone knows it's not one.

(Since the full names of the two male protagonists are not mentioned in the movie, the father’s name and whether there is Feng Wucong is known (it should not be) but Jaeger should be called Klaus Jaeger, Nicolas’s first name and last name Nikolai and Ivshkin respectively.)
