The scripture I fear most: God is good
This is an era of lack of faith, this is an era of distorted faith, and this is also an era of persecution of faith... But this is also an era in which faith is rebuilt, repeatedly forged by craftsmen in the fire kiln. The sword is the sharpest, and the faith that persists in the persecution is pure gold.
"I would rather stand on the same side with God and be judged by the world; I don't want to stand on the same side with the world and be judged by God." This is the heroine in "God Is Not Dead 2" spoken to American courts and lawyers in defense . I admire her courage and wisdom very much, and dare to face all malicious doubts alone, just like the protagonist in "God Is Not Dead 1" openly opposed the professor's persecution of faith in the classroom, and refused to sign "God is dead" statement. The world is questioning the existence of God, doubting God's mercy, and they must prove that "God is not dead" in order to defend their faith.
The philosopher Nietzsche said: "God is dead." He is not saying that God is really "dead", but that God has been unable to become the moral standard and ultimate goal of human society. Everyone explains the meaning and rules of personal life from the perspective of God. The progress of civilized society has not only liberated mankind from the repressive system, but has also kept us bound and deceived by liberalism. Society is always an overcorrected existence. The truly perfect balance does not exist in our sinful world, but the truly perfect God exists in this dirty world all the time, not for Him, but for us. He really loves us, and He knows our weakness and limitations, so He walks with us and fights with us all the time.
I don’t want to try to prove that "God is not dead" like the heroes and heroines in "God Is Not Dead", because the Bible has actually said: Since the creation of the heavens and the earth, the eternal power and divinity of God is clearly known. Yes, although it is invisible to the eye, it can be known through the things created, and it is beyond excuse. (Romans 1:20 Union Version) Although our spirit is separated from God, we know the existence of God in our deepest depths. Love... these make us unable to excuse us. However, in fact, the movie also tells us the fact that most skeptics do not really slander and do not believe in the existence of God, but question the goodness of God. The professor who forced the college freshmen to sign the "God is dead" statement to be qualified. In fact, he was so opposed to God and hated God because he really believed in a God, but he believed that God was a malicious God. , Is the god who deliberately manipulated the sudden death of his favorite family member. But of course we as Christians know that it is not. God is a good God and never changes. GOD is good all the time. The cross is the best answer.
A pastor I particularly like: Paul Walsh said in a sermon, "I want to share with you the most frightening verse in the Bible: God is good. (Luke 18:19)" The audience was stunned. He continued, "Why knowing that God is good is a scary thing, because we are not good. As sinners, we offend God, offend nature, we offend each other, and the whole world of creation bears witness to us. The question is: how can such a righteous God forgive sinners? Such a holy God calls sinners to communicate with him but is still holy? The answer is "on the cross of Jesus Christ." He is righteous, so We must be condemned. He is also love, so he has taken the image of human beings, humbled, arrested, tried, beaten, humiliated, and crucified. What a long, wide, high and deep love is this .
The death of the cross is an expression of supreme love, but the world does not know that Jesus died on a blood-stained wood for the sins of each of us. They just rely on their free will to judge the righteous and loving Savior. The god they imagined is a god who will be content to see us suffer, a sadist. But suffering is not a product that God deliberately created to torture us, but a place where He used it to shape us. Faced with family accidents, misfortunes, or unsatisfactory life, we will involuntarily question his goodness. But we must be clear that behind all the suffering is His good intentions. Suffering is bitter, but He allows the fruit of suffering to be sweet. Paul said: Not only that, but also rejoices in adversity; knowing that adversity produces patience, patience produces experience, and experience produces hope; hope will not be ashamed, because the Holy Spirit given to us pours the love of God into our hearts . (Romans 5:3-5 Union Version)
We have a lot of suffering in this world, either because of persecution by faith (2 Timothy 3:12), or because of natural and man-made disasters...We are inevitable and controlled because we are as small as ants in the face of disasters. When faced with the test of suffering, we may have prayed for God to take away the pain, but we should pray for God to give us more courage and wisdom, so that the end of the suffering will bear good fruits. Because we believe that He is a good God, and it has always been.
In the faith challenge of "God Is Not Dead", I seem to see the hero and heroine come back triumphantly from the battlefield wearing the armor of faith. I also saw more of the God behind them. He is incomparably majestic, invincible, defending truth and justice, and protecting the humble. His arrows pierced the hearts of enemies. Therefore, as the sea is surging and the mountains are shaking and trembling, we are not afraid. Because He is our help at any time in adversity. He is a good God.
