On February 6, 1958, Manchester United, the football club I believed in in my life, suffered the most tragic air crash in football history. Among the 44 passengers and crew members on board, 23 were killed. The victims included 8 Manchester United players and 3 staff members. The history is known as the Munich air crash.
Since 2006, since I fell in love with football and Manchester United, every February 6th, I will cherish the memory of the former "Busby Baby". In 2011, the British took this past event into a movie and named it "United", which was called "Manchester United Rebirth" in Chinese.
The Munich air crash in 1958 did not bring down the Red Devils. In 1968, 10 years after the Munich air crash, Manchester United defeated Portugal powerhouse Benfica 4:1 in the Champions League final. Busby finally took Manchester United to the European Cup.
After winning the championship, Matt Busby lifted the Champions League eight times, calling out the name of a player who died in the Munich air crash every time. Bobby Charlton and other players cut their fingers, dripping blood into the Champions League, and then dripping on the court to comfort the dead souls. At that moment, Manchester United achieved a complete rebirth after the Munich air crash!
Now, as long as circumstances permit, Sir Bobby Charlton will be there to watch the Manchester United game. Although Manchester United has many difficulties today, I believe that a team with such a soul and temperament will never decline!
Glory Glory Man United!!!
