The pain of basic education in the United States

No matter where in the world, education and medical resources are always the scarcest. The same is true in the United States.

After watching the American documentary about education "Waiting for Superman", I felt mixed. Perhaps American educational resources are even more unfair. It was too hard for a few children to wave their numbers into the school when they waited.

The most memorable i should be the director of the documentary chatting with the little girl. The little girl said that she has many dreams, doctors, etc., so she will go to medical university in the future. The director said: "Then can you enter the high school of your dreams? ?" The little girl said she wanted to enter. Unexpectedly, the director asked again: "Do you know what lottory is?" The girl was stunned. She didn't know that part of her life was luck.

There are still schools in the United States that do not teach. Teachers just read newspapers, so a motion for layoffs has been triggered. Fortunately, the labor union protects the rights of teachers. If you have more people, you will have less meat, and you will get less money if you have more jobs. But many teachers still do not agree to double their salary and face the risk of being fired. Educators must have magical powers. As the director said, the lessons of a good teacher are like art, intoxicating children. I really hope I can be such a teacher!

It is rare to see mainstream documentaries fire on labor unions. Unfortunately, seven years later, teachers’ unions are still the chief culprit hindering the improvement of education quality. Charter School is good, voucher system is good, School Choice is good

Waiting for Superman quotes

  • Geoffrey Canada: I was like what do you mean he's not real. And she thought I was crying because it's like Santa Claus is not real and I was crying because there was no one coming with enough power to save us.

  • Bill Strickland: No matter who we are, or what neighbourhood we belong in, each morning, wanting to believe in our schools.
