Obviously different from the American "Two-sided Lover" (1998) starred by Gwyneth Paltrow, and François Ou Jong's "Two-sided Lover" (also translated as "Two-sided Lover" and "Divisive Game 2017), based on Joyce Carroll Oates’ novel "Twin Brothers", uses a very calm perspective to explain an illusionary young woman Chloe Fortin (Marion Wakot (Played), in the interaction with the psychologist Paul Meyer (Jeremie Lenier), many unexpected paradoxes were discovered.
But François Ou Jong's "Double-faced Lover" gave me an unpleasant impression, even filthy. I am not trying to set him a "seven deadly sins", nor do I want to define his disrespect to women from his "homosexual" status. No, he is not just disrespectful, he is simply insulting women. His obvious tendency to abuse women is uncomfortable. I just want to say what he wants to bring to the audience.
If it is said that his last "Franz" (2016), although there are many weaknesses and shortcomings, after all, there is still a kind of connotation and expression between love affairs. In "Two-sided Lover", I can't see any deep meaning, some are just playing a frivolous routine, lustful imagination, and a defiled display of the hidden parts of women.
From the haircutting started by Chloe, to the gynecological examination lying there, and from the phantom of the sexual organs to blue eyeballs, it seems that from the beginning, he played with the female in the palm of his thighs with a doll mentality.
My requirements for movies are very broad. You can have no thoughts, or even anti-art, even pure entertainment, and completely objective presentation, or all messy experimental images, but don’t play with clever mysteries, don’t deliberately abuse women, don’t let People are disgusting, don't be disrespectful to the movie itself, don't call it erotic thriller images, but wantonly insult the audience's IQ, this is disgusting.
In the film, Jérémy Lenière plays the twin brothers Paul Meyer and Louis Delore. Paul and Delore are both psychologists, but they don't know each other. Chloe consulted with Paul and Delore because of a stomachache, and then developed a lover relationship. It's just that she lives with Paul and maintains an antagonistic lover relationship with Delors. The so-called antagonism comes from their different personalities. Paul looks calm while Delors looks irritable.

The film created a lot of nonsensical things for us. Because Paul didn't like cats, Chloe gave the cat Milo to his neighbor, the old lady Rose, and the old lady's house had many cat specimens. Chloe went to visit Sandra, Paul's former vegetative girlfriend, in the name of a classmate, but was scolded by her mother, Mrs. Shenkel, as a "bitch" and frightened away. At the end of the film, the mother became Chloe's mother. In the film, Jacques Bisset also played these two roles.
In Chloe's illusion, the film is mainly projected on his sexual transformation. When Chloe and Paul are excited, you will see naked Delors coming over, and the twins will have a passionate kiss first, and then play three Ps. More than that, Delore's strength and dominance would make her avatar a man to fuck him from behind, or he would let her take off her clothes, and the two would sit there naked and face to face, just like conducting a psychological consultation. This superficial illusion of sex makes the film too superficial and unknowing.
Most importantly, after the unbearable Chloe shot and killed Delore, the film tells us that all of this is Chloe’s illusion, what Paul and Delore’s twins, what Delore raped Paul’s Girlfriend Sandra, what Sandra is a twin parasitic in Chloe's mother's belly, and eventually absorbed by Chloe, etc., all of these are fake and are caused by Chloe's mental illness. Finally, we saw Chloe’s mother and Paul leaving with the confused Chloe.
All this is fake, there is no problem. For movies, you can shoot as you want. This is creative freedom. But you can't decontaminate women with a gloomy mentality and bloody attitude. The shocking and disgusting scene in the film is that after Chloe shot Delore, her pregnant belly kept arching, and then her belly was torn and spurted, as if the amniotic fluid had broken, and she had a miscarriage. The doctor told her that she was pregnant with twins, only one kilogram, one sucked the other. Of course, this is also false. It turns out that this is why Chloe hates his mother.

I'm thinking about how much the director hates women, how much he hates having children, how much he hates the reproduction of human beings, what this kind of obscene image that is isolated from reality will bring us, we can not so-called truth, kindness and beauty. This kind of enlightenment, you don’t need to be refreshing, or healing, but you can’t make us sick like this. Of course, the director is very cunning. He uses a complete female illusion to decontaminate, and then tells us lightly that all of this is her imagination, like a talisman, which is clean and exempt from responsibility.
But I still want to say that if Paul is a psychiatrist, normally speaking, he empathizes with Chloe, which is against professional ethics. More importantly, as a professional doctor, it is impossible not to know her mental illness. Knowing that she is mentally ill, it is obviously contrary to common sense and morality to not cure her and live with her. That is to say, the director made a common sense mistake. Maybe he only focused on "sex" and neglected some basic common sense deduction. The reason, I think, was due to his impure creative motivation.
From a certain perspective, we are all double-faced people, and I understand the meaning of the film. But from Lars von Trier’s "Sex Addiction" (2013), Andrew Hager’s "45th Anniversary" (2015), Alain Girodi’s "Keep Standing" (2016), and this " "Double Lovers", these "gay" directors, they all have a tendency to discriminate and vilify women. They expose women's hidden parts wantonly and casually, which seems to be tried and tested, but in fact it has become unbearable. The situation.
I always say that they need to look at reality from the perspective of human civilization, objectively examine human nature, get rid of arrogance and low self-esteem, transcend narrow gender awareness, and avoid deliberately defilement of women. Only in this way can each show his own magical powers and shoot high-quality images that truly belong to him. Facts have proved that their limitations have become lame ducks for their self-transcendence. It is also the shortcomings and awkwardness of their creations over the years.
