Unlike thinking about death, dealing with death is not a philosophical issue. When people are about to die, they may think about the duality of mind and matter, and they may think about life toward death, but the matter of dealing with death cannot be done in the mind, but needs to be done personally. Many farewells must be done by yourself. Since life is in a ubiquitous relationship, saying goodbye to relatives, friends, colleagues, enemies, and the past is a serious account of every relationship. People should be helpless when dealing with death, no matter how detached they may think about various scenes, but only when they are actually arranged can they realize the truth and then accept the fact of death.
Julian's farewell to his past did not go well. When he met with an old friend, the other party pretended not to see him; he apologized to his love rival, but the other party reluctantly agreed; he wanted to meet his son, and spent the entire process in awkward conversations and embraces. Others can't handle his death well, only he can, before any official ceremony has arrived. Arranging death for oneself is a very solemn matter. Chinese people order shrouds and coffins for a dignity before they die. Unfortunately, the film ends after these specious farewells. The ending hints that euthanasia is abrupt, which is really a pity.
