Recently, when I accidentally read the previous information, I found a film review of "Day of Landing" written during college. It was quite interesting and posted it. The content is somewhat spoiled. If you are interested, you can read this film review after watching the film. . I’m not a professional, so I just have some humble opinions, and my speech is naive.
After watching "Day of Landing", my heart has never been more complicated. From the very beginning of watching the movie, I felt extremely uncomfortable, and I even couldn't help but yell at it. What a bad movie this is! However, after holding my temper and watching it for more than two hours, it made me fall into contemplation. The inner spirit that the movie wants to convey has nothing to do with whether the war is justice or whether humanity is dark. It is just a marathon runner running all the way, but the track on which he runs is a battlefield.
The film started from a marathon. I only saw the back but not the front face. I specially noticed that the name behind it was "JS KIM". After that, the actor Joon-sik appeared, which made me think that the back of the film was running. It was the actor, until the reversal of the ending, which made me feel unexpected. This is probably the arrangement that the director echoed from the beginning to the end. The film began in 1928, during the Japanese colonization of Joseon, the grandson of the Japanese general Hasegawa Tatsuo (played by Joe Odagiri) and the lowly son Kim Junsik (played by Jang Dongjian) had been competing for running since they were young. This rivalry relationship continued until they grew up to participate in the Olympic selection. Jun Zhi won the championship to qualify for the Olympics. However, this may damage the face of the Japanese Empire and "blatantly" frame Jun Zhi for violation. The aggrieved people clashed with the military, and in the end Joon-sik and his brothers were enlisted and started his life journey.
In the Japanese military camp, a few Koreans fought for the Great Japanese Empire. This in itself was an extremely violent existence, and they had been bullied by the Japanese army all the time. In a war, Jun Zhi and his brothers captured Xuelan (Fan Bingbing), a sniper who specialized in shooting and killing Japanese soldiers. When I saw Fan Bingbing appear on the screen while speaking in Chinese, I was full of expectations, but from this point on, the following plot made me extremely uncomfortable.
Admiral Chenxiong came to the front to supervise the battle, which humiliated Junzhi. Jun Zhi and his brother were then ready to flee. Perhaps because of feelings, Jun Zhi took Xuelan with him. When Jun Zhi saw that the Soviet army was under pressure, he decided to run back to deliver the letter. The Soviet plane bombarded Jun Zhi running all the way. At this time, a magical scene appeared. In order to save Jun Zhi, Xue Lan shot the Soviet plane with a rifle and successfully rescued the hero, but sacrificed himself. As an anti-fascist Chinese alliance-the Soviet Union, China's sharpshooters actually went to shoot Soviet aircraft to rescue the male protagonist. It is an incredible scene. Xuelan rescued Jun Zhi, but he was shot to death by a Soviet bomber. A Chinese sharpshooter did not die under the enemy’s remnant hands, but was drowned by the Allied artillery. It's confusing. Before Jun Zhi was immersed in Xue Lan's death, the war started.
As the supreme commander, Chenxiong ordered the Japanese army to meet the enemy, and the artillery fired at the scene of the war. At this time, I have to say that the blockbuster was shocked. Every scene was like a real war, and it also showed us the cruelty of the war. In this environment, even Joon-sik, as the protagonist, can only try to rescue his friends like duckweed, but he can't do anything. Among them, what I have to say is Tatsuo’s performance, which allows us to see the side of his body that belongs to the spirit of militarism and Bushido, this kind of crazy warfare, this kind of chanting "The Emperor" for the so-called "Great Japanese Empire" The killing of "Long live", this kind of madness of fighting even if we know it, even if we know it, will even shoot the fugitives, and frighten me. Chen Xiong, who had been blushing, had to pull up Jiang Junzhi even in the face of the determination to die, and be blown up together. So far, the first climax of the film is over. After a short period of shady, Jun Zhi and Tatsuo appear together in a Soviet prisoner of war camp in the snow and ice. I have to sigh the power of the protagonist's halo here. Even if they are blown up into the air, the two people are like Xiaoqiang who can't be beaten. It is incredible to move on.
Tatsuo still believed in his "Mikado" in the Soviet prisoner of war camp and defended the dignity of the Japanese Empire. Jun Zhi unexpectedly met his brother Zotye who had fled before, and Zotye became the chief manager of the Soviet army. When Jun Zhi and Zotye talked about returning to their hometown by the smelly corpse burning furnace, Zotye no longer wanted to go back. Joon-sik also gradually learned that his former brother has changed, and that he has also bullied others and lusted for power. In the Soviet prisoner-of-war camp, the film actually showed the loyalty and kindness of the character Joon-sik. When Chenxiong and Junsik were in a duel, when Chenxiong was overpowered and shouted "Kill me, North Korean dog", Junsik didn't really kill him; Zotye betrayed his brother, Junsik in order to protect his rights and position. Break with Zotye; Zotye oppresses the Japanese army, and even kills the Japanese army, Jun Zhi can't bear to fight against Zotye. All of the above can be seen, Jun Zhi's kind nature, this kindness was not understood by the previous brothers, but quietly awakened the factor of Chenxiong's inner kindness.
At this time the battle of Stalingrad began. Just to survive, Jun Zhi didn't hesitate to put on the Soviet military uniform, Chenxiong also put on the military uniform after tangled, and was filled into the army to join the death squad. On the battlefield, although Jun Zhi tried his best to protect his friends, even Zotye who had broken up, even Chen Xiong who had hurt him. In this war, Chenxiong experienced a real change. He was also the leader of the supreme commander. He witnessed the Soviet political commissar shooting and retreating soldiers. Chenxiong was like seeing himself at the beginning. The film continues to alternate between the Battle of Nominkan and the Battle of Stalingrad. Tatsuo began to shake his belief in the Great Japanese Empire, and his belief in war collapsed. In order to save Chenxiong, Jun Kee was injured and deaf. After the war, only Jun Zhi and Chen Xiong survived. Jun Zhi once again put on the clothes of the German army. This time Chen Xiong followed in the footsteps of Jun Zhi and changed into military uniforms, and began to climb the mountains. In the ice and snow, the friendship between the two was sublimated, but the two were scattered in the German territory. The film ended its second climax, and it was shady again. Human nature began to change, and kindness rescued evil.
In the German camp in Normandy, Jun Zhi and Chen Xiong met, and their brotherhood reached a climax when they met again. The two who originally planned to return to their homeland faced war again. The most exciting war scene in the film appeared, and the Normandy Road War started. Two people fought side by side on the battlefield, born to death. However, in the end, but failed to return to his hometown together, Jun Zhi died on the battlefield and gave Chen Xiong his brand name. Because Tatsuo is Japanese, Jun Zhi is afraid that Tatsuo will be treated as an enemy by the US military. Chenxiong hugged Jun Zhi in pain, and the film reached its third climax. Finally, in the London Marathon, Chenxiong ran the rest of the distance for Jun Zhi.
"Day of Landing" was originally called "MY WAY", my journey. At first, I only saw the "unbelievable" in the movie. These seemingly absurd plots did not conform to the historical plot, and they were precisely the ideas the movie wanted to express. Why did Seo-lan choose to shoot a Soviet plane to save Joon-sik. Because friendship is supreme, because you saved me, so I want to save you. This expression of emotion higher than reason seems absurd, but it is shocking and real. Why was Jun Zhi able to reassure Chen Xiong from his former "enemy", and even gave him his name tag in order to save Chen Xiong from being injured. Because kindness is supreme, Jun Zhi, who is kind by nature, didn't want to hurt anyone. When Chenxiong was awakened from the seeds of kindness, the "competitors" who grew up together became brothers after living together and dying together. The most controversial thing in the film is why Joon-sik can change his military uniform again and again, because wars are cruel to him because there is no distinction between justice and injustice. All he can do is to live for the dream in his heart. This is really what the movie wants to express, war is all wrong.
When we watched the film, we defined Jun Zhi as a Korean, Tatsuo as a Japanese, Selangan as a Chinese, a Soviet as a Soviet, and a German as a German. Subconsciously think that the just side must be bright, and the unjust side must be dark. In a detail in the film, Joon-sik and others had miserable lives when they were in the Japanese and Soviet troops, but it was ironic that they were delicious and well-dressed in fascist Germany. Therefore, regardless of these national definitions and stereotypes, these protagonists are just ordinary people in the next war. They have nothing to do with whether the war is justice or whether humanity is dark or not, follow the instinct of human nature to be good, respect the truest emotions of human nature, and live. .
In the movie, Joon-sik never stops running. Joon-sik has been running on his marathon track in the Japanese military camp playground, in the Soviet prisoner of war camp, on the Soviet beach by the sea. This is a part of his journey, just because it was particularly difficult at that particular historical stage.
