Human beings always have a cognitive dualistic paradox for themselves. On the one hand, it is civilized but repressed; on the other hand, it is barbaric but real. What is true human beings, what is true freedom, can't say how to say. The tragedy of the film is that although the duality of the soul can be stimulated and strangled, the uniqueness of the body cannot be avoided. How hopeful that with a gunshot, the ugly hyde fell down, and our handsome doctor could be resurrected. However, we all know that they are actually one person, and even if they don't want to admit it, this fact cannot be changed.

Technologically amazing, subjective shots, stop-motion montages, long takes, close-ups, split screens, transition cuts are all amazing.

This plot is much more reasonable than the 1920 version. It is human nature to struggle with hypocrisy even in the end.
