"Headshot" is starred by the protagonist of the "Assault" series, Iko Uais, and the popular combination Hammer Girl and Baseball Brother in "Assault 2" - the two become dagger sisters and steel sticks in "Headshot" Brother, so beautiful girls and boys-many people say that "Headshot" is in the copycat "Assault", which makes sense. But I personally feel that the director Mo Brothers, these two Indonesian B-level horror masters, still handed over a very personal style of action film.
Although the action scenes of "Headshot" are far less than those of "Assault", they are frantic and romantic-excessively exaggerated to unnecessary plasma violence, plus the emotional scenes of the hero and heroine that are simple and naive to resemble a fairy tale, as well as mentors and apprentices, The comic-style entanglement and betrayal between brothers and old lovers filled the whole film with a naive and childish taste. It's a pity that it seems that most viewers find it difficult to get this kind of simple and rude genre film fun; but ah, even the title of the film is called "Headshot", what else do you expect?
The first time I met Brother Mo was in "26 Ways to Die". At that time, the section of "L: Libido" directed by the brothers was disgusting. It was a new understanding of the perversions in Southeast Asia. In "Deadly Videotape 2," the short film "Easy Paradise", which they collaborated with "Assault" director Gareth Evans, talks about cult collective suicide, zombies, ghosts, and Indonesian evil gods. It should be regarded as three episodes of "Videotape." The most exciting chapter in the series; perhaps it was this collaboration that gave the Mo brothers the opportunity to steal actors from Gareth Evans, and contributed to the formation of "Headshot"? However, after that, the two brothers might also want to make a transition. They found Kazuki Kitamura and Japan to co-produce "The Killers". It seemed that they wanted to discuss social humanity in addition to violence. Well, there is a specialization in the art industry. Except for some hardcore action scenes, "Killers" is still pretty ugly.
