22 King’s Jester,
the 22nd Oscar Best Picture.
This film is a political film. I didn’t understand it until I watched it twice because of my lack of experience and knowledge. It mainly talked about an ambitious farmer who obtained a lawyer’s degree through self-study, and later had no teacher in the process of running for governor. Zitong, learned excellent speech skills, his speech was extremely provocative, and he won the votes of all farmers by his speech.
But the protagonist is not a person like what he showed in his speech. He is not a just and unselfish person for the people. He is an excellent politician and a hypocritical liar. He is deeply acquainted with the darkness of politics and is immersed in it. After gaining power , He concluded a peace treaty with the powerful, insisted on driving away all those who opposed him, shielded his subordinates who were corrupt, threatened judges who insisted on justice, shielded his son who was drunk and driven, and demanded that his son who was mentally insane entered the game and his son was disabled for life. He and his subordinates His fiancée had an affair and promised to divorce and finally repented...His evil was revealed to the fullest after he obtained his rights.
But human nature has two sides. There is no perfect person. The protagonist also has the good quality of never giving up and persevering in struggle. From an obscure farmer to a governor, he may even have even greater achievements to become president, but it is too late. He was killed by the evil he committed himself before he accomplished his goal.
Human nature is complicated, and politics is even more so. The versatility of man and the complexity of politics together create a contradictory protagonist. The male lead's acting skills are superb. Whether it is a hypocritical smile or a thrilling speech, he is always familiar with the road. Only a real performance can move people's hearts. Perhaps because this is a political movie, many plots or character descriptions in the movie are quite vague. The protagonist is the well-deserved first protagonist. Jack is an indecisive man with an indecisive stand. Jane is a spoiled eldest lady who has not been deeply involved in the world. , Was dazzled by love. But in general, it is quite successful as a political film.
In fact, this is the first politically oriented movie I watched. I didn’t understand it thoroughly. Although I watched it twice and I didn’t really understand the specific elections, I discovered one thing. Political movies make people accept society. The darkness of understanding that what you hear is not so credible. Most politicians say one thing and do another thing. The protagonist relies on his excellent speeches to incite the masses, the masses’ personal adoration, the masses unconditionally believe in him and even ignore the crimes he committed. These horrible and grotesque phenomena caused me to think. The people who were simply fooled and the brilliant, cunning and hypocritical politicians used each other to get what they needed. The civilians were fooled to support the protagonist, but they got schools, hospitals and highways. The protagonist has gained popular support and absolute rights.
Things in the world are probably like this. The relationship between people is very subtle. When encountering things, you must think independently, cherish getting along with friends, and get along with your heart. This is what this movie reminded me of. Politics is too complicated and I can't understand it, so I won't talk about it.
