Xiao He in the last days

The story background of the end-time famine. The film has benefited from it, but also suffered from it.

The so-called benefit refers to ordinary human disasters, even the displacement of refugees from World War II can hardly provide the extreme role behaviors and relationships shown in the film: living alone for seven years, holding guns, and being hostile to any outsiders. The mother and daughter wanted a bite of food at any cost... Just like Costner's water world, the initial setting of the living environment is particularly cruel, and it is easy to hang the audience's tension and concentration from the very beginning.

But unlike the water world, we have never seen a panoramic view of the end times. The movie begins with a focus on being alone in a lonely house deep in the forest. Of course, this can be regarded as an intentional setting of time and space, but it cannot be ruled out that it is a forced trick under the condition of independent production cost constraints. But even the latter is fine. If you can continue talking along with the limited space of the three people & the small room, it may become a masterpiece. Just like in the past there was a Japanese movie, The Daughter of Sand.

But it just can't. There must always be external threats that continue to rush into the spoiler. Or kidnapping and shooting, or grabbing vegetables and destroying the land, until a deadly armed group attacks...In this way, the background of the apocalyptic famine that was originally emptied can no longer be hidden, and various logical problems follow one after another: 1. Mother Where do the two women come from? Why didn't you encounter the Ansheng community surrounded by barbed wire before entering the forest? 2. If the daughter does not leave, why does the mother have to seek death? Where is the desperate evaluation point? 3. What do the attackers usually eat? It doesn't seem to be so skinny one by one! ...

The accumulation of these questions will inevitably weaken the logic of behavior in the previous segment. Because we have seen more and more ways and possibilities of survival, it means that it is far from the cruel situation of death and blood relatives fighting each other! Especially in the final scene, the girl walked out of the dense forest and was shocked to see the iron net, the watchtower, the crops, the gunman, the farmer, and the finishing touch-the woman with a broken arm holding a child... The main idea rose in an instant: facing a major crisis, individual independent survivalism (That is, the title: Survivalist) is undesirable, and the group democratic mutual aid system is the right way. But the film itself boasted and collapsed: It was so terrible before co-authoring, are the heroes and the white-haired old lady self-abusing self-willingly?

Self-made gossip The producer of a 2015 space adventure blockbuster found the director of the film.

: Your backyard is self-sufficient in farming, and it was destroyed overnight...It just happens to be the plot in my new movie.
: Very honored!
: But you broke my choke.
: What should I do?
: Best to postpone the show!
:……
: We will double the compensation and be responsible for promotion.
: Um~ alright.

    Kathryn: Well, no matter now.

    Milja: He's useful.

Kathryn: A third mouth. On a farm fit for one. And too far gone, anyway.

Milja: No harm in trying, then?

    Kathryn: You're getting sentimental.

    Milja: You're getting older.

  • Kathryn: [about intruders at the door] How many are there?

Survivalist: Six. We have two shells and one bullet.

    Kathryn: Enough for us.
