A good story will be immortal

Very good documentary, after watching it, I was a little bit sour and moved. Watching generations of people make unremitting efforts to tell better stories. But no matter how digital develops, I still prefer the texture and inclusiveness of film. Digital things provide society with greater space and possibilities, but also make everything impetuous and one-sided. And after digitization, I can no longer think of the subtle touches after re-engraving. Whether it is my old school or conservative, I very much agree with the sentence "Our next generation will suffer because of this, because there is no more taste at all."

Thank you Zhu Yu for your recommendation. Film documentary. Interviewed countless big names in the film industry. Including directing, photography, production, editing, etc. Discuss the decline of motion picture film and the surging wave of digitization. Whether it is photography, editing, screening or archiving, digitization is indeed the general trend and cannot be stopped. But the film party represented by Nolan still insists on film shooting. The film is easy to understand. Both popular science and industry learning. recommend!

Side by Side quotes

  • Darnell Martin: Digital brings you speed. And it almost challenges you in the sense of, can I think that fast? Do I need time to breathe.

  • David Tattersall: [about quality of digital] They would say, why are you going backwards? But there's a lot to be said about the necessity to kind of lean back in order to spring forward.
