Elegant life

I often watch movies secretly during working hours, and today I saw "Steal a Kiss". My not serious attitude towards work coincides with Antoine. He would be ashamed of calling his girlfriend, he would not be able to find the goods because he was not careful, and he would be unpretentious in front of the superior and it would be difficult to please the superior, and so would I. This allowed me to take on the role very strongly, and obtain alternative satisfaction in the relaxed and elegant atmosphere and the ending of the marriage.
Different from the gloomy and deserted "Four Hundred Strikes", what impressed me most is its relaxed and elegant style.
The plot development is like daily life, there are no fierce conflicts and conflicts. Even fierce scenes, such as hotel arrest, Antoine and Kristin quarreling and breaking up, sudden death of detective staff, Antoine crashing and so on.
The character setting is also a common character in life. Antoine who is immature and makes many mistakes, Kerstin who is not high-valued but elegant and simple, and the proprietress of a shoe store with various styles and elegant and lazy, although they are small people in the society, But it has its own charm. They are not like ordinary people in China, living in a state of anxiety, impetuosity, and fierceness, but a kind of brilliance that exudes a clear self-knowledge and a solid heart. Perhaps it can be called the "petty bourgeoisie" we often call. What's more commendable is that the film creators did not stand on the moral high ground to examine the film characters, but presented objectively, such as Antoine's prostitute, Antoine's fornication with the proprietress. For me, I even think these are wonderful. When the proprietress came to Antoine secretly, I really looked forward to the beautiful combination of the two.
The unrefined pictures, random and diverse shots, and relaxed soundtrack reinforce this in form. This style is like dancing briskly, with light footsteps, breaking the calm water surface of life, swaying beautiful ripples.
The film has a lot of humorous and interesting clips, but I love the end of the film the most. After failing to enter the hotel industry and the detective industry, Antoine switched to doing TV repairs. Although he had no success in his work, the fun is that he was often too busy with time. Kerstin couldn't find him everywhere, so she broke the TV while her parents were away on vacation, and Antoine came to serve. Antoine solemnly took out his tools and prepared to do a big job. In the next shot, we saw the TV parts dropped on the ground (I wanted to come to Antoine to have already unloaded the TV by eight pieces), and followed the camera upstairs to look for it. The director made another joke with us here, but the bed in the room was empty. It turned out that the two were in another room.
The scene where the two had breakfast together the next day was my favorite one. They talked about the trivial matter of how to cleverly spread cheese on the bread, and then confessed. The two wrote their words on sticky notes and passed them back and forth. We didn't know the content, but from the joy of their hearts, we could see that things went smoothly. The white space here can be called a magical pen. Finally, Antoine borrowed the round hole on the spoon as a ring, put it on Kirsten's hand, and made a romantic marriage proposal.
The two walked along the streets of Paris. And that mysterious man's sudden approach and confession of love once again made romantic ripples for a peaceful life.
After watching the film, I must return to my unhappy work again, but the short dream has made me lighter.

Stolen Kisses quotes

  • Georges Tabard: Do you speak English, Antoine?

Antoine Doinel: I'm learning from records, but it's not easy.

Georges Tabard: Records are a joke. There's only one way to learn: in bed with an English girl. It's time you learned. I learned with an Australian girl while her husband was at work painting houses.

    Fabienne Tabard: Like Hitler.

Georges Tabard: Don't ever say Hitler was a housepainter. That's slander. Hitler painted landscapes.
