Who is Thomas (serious spoilers)

After watching "Lore", the most sigh of relief is the sudden end of love between Lore and Thomas. With this unending ending, I can't help but wonder, who is Thomas, and will he be with Lore again later? With doubts about certain plots in the movie, I went to see Rachel Seiffert's novel "the dark room". As a result, the novel and the movie are almost two stories except for similar scenes. Thomas in the novel is really a Jew, while Thomas in the movie has reason to suspect that he is not a Jew.
Thomas in the movie, according to the various people described in other World War II novels and movies that I have seen before, is probably a former Nazi, a concentration camp guard, and fled the hunt disguised as a Jew. How can I see it?
Let me talk about what things cannot prove that Thomas is a Jew. First of all, the document does not indicate that Thomas is a Jew. Because at the end, Thomas’ Jewish identity certificate came from other dead Jews. Then there is the tattoo. The numbered tattoo on Thomas' arm is not something only Jews can have. In a novel "Nazis and the Barber" written by a Jew, there is a plot. The first thing the protagonist SS officer does when he travels through the forest and returns to Berlin is to tattoo a number on his wrist and pretend to be a Jew. Therefore, tattoos are not exclusive to Jews and can be forged.
But Thomas must have been in a concentration camp, guarded or imprisoned. At that time, most ordinary people in Germany did not know what a concentration camp was like, but Thomas had all the Jewish documents. The Schindler List detailed how these items would be sorted in the concentration camp, so they could hold These people were either the German army and its doglegs or strolled around in the concentration camp after being liberated (Thomas in the novel is like this); Thomas is "like" a Jew, has tattoos, and knows that the children in the woods speak Polish. It shows that he knows the situation in the concentration camp well; in the Soviet-occupied area, let them hide away from others, which shows that he knows the style of the Soviet army (the wolf-like hairy sees women XX, see "Women in Berlin" and Poland for details The movie "Rosa").
Let me talk about why it is suspected that Thomas was once a German army. In the novel, Thomas shrinks in front of Lore. He dared not look directly into her eyes. He was timid to reveal his identity, fearing that Lore would leave him if he knew it. But Thomas in the movie is so bad that he tried to make a bow for the first time he talked; he always looked straight at Lore without shyness or cowardice; he secretly touched Lore's hands or feet, and then lay directly beside her; When Lore scolded him as a Jew, he just tilted his head badly and started touching Lore's bare ankle; he was accustomed to killings and deaths, and he didn't hesitate to make his shots. Seeing Guenther dead, he took off the boy's shoes and fled without hesitation; love Tobacco and alcohol, the first thing he did after killing the boatman was to drink his alcohol. After G died, he also drank alcohol there. At such a young age, he was addicted to alcohol. Most of the Jewish youth at the time did not have this opportunity. Instead, they were in concentration camps. A corrupt German army is very likely (you will see it when you look at "Schindler's List"); the most important thing is that once the ID is lost, it will slip away like a mouse and a cat in front of the Allied forces. What a Jew is to explain, It takes a bit of trouble, and there is no need to separate from Lore. This is probably because of being wanted. On the other hand, Thomas said that he did not go to war during the war, but was stealing and being detained in jail. He was probably implying that he was assigned to a concentration camp, exploited Jewish property, and deprived of life; his rich knowledge and ability of wild survival are very good. It may come from training and experience (such as disguising as a civilian and trekking through the forest from Poland back to Germany).
Then why didn't Thomas tell Lore that he was not a Jew, but that he was with her father? First of all, he is a war criminal, and he is very secretive about his identity. Otherwise, even if Lore does not say it, her younger siblings will probably miss it, and may attract Lore's contempt, that is, they cannot be sure that they will continue to keep secret and continue to associate with him. . Secondly, after so many experiences, he did not agree with the Nazis' propaganda and practices to the Jews and felt guilty for them, so he acted as a Jew in front of his lover, treated her well, used actions to influence her, and broke the brainwashing that the Nazis had previously given her. So Thomas doesn't mind Lore "knowing" that he is a Jew, and every time Lore despises him as a Jew, he has a face of disdain, and he knows something.
