The director's brilliance lies in the fact that he did not fall into the process of shooting and killing with heavy pen and ink in the past. Instead, it focuses on the shooting, eliciting several characters and their reactions during the shooting. From the point and line to the surface, the cause, process, consequences of the event and the impact on the lives of several characters are all stringed together.
The story breaks the traditional linear narrative. In the hands of Richard Comeau's scissors, the storytelling of the picture is very subtle, the main branch is flashing back, time and space are interspersed, and flashback. Death, the horror emotions are grasped, the atmosphere creation is very in place, and when the emotions are calm, the sudden shot makes people startle. A very strong sense of presence enters the sense of substitution. The letter from the beginning to the end echoes very well. The sublimation of the theme is very natural. Although the subject matter is heavy, the dead rest in peace and the living are strong.
Pierre Gill's photography is also a highlight. Steadicam shows the murderer and shows the students in his hand. The 90°180°rotating lens renders the character's mental activities very brilliantly.
