The author's style is sharp, Reivew on Elena

This is not a family ethics drama about "poor parents in the world". It cleverly borrows the shell of family ethics films, but in essence it implies the opposition between the rich and the poor, as well as the conceptual differences between the parents and the younger generation, and portrays the moral aspects of today's Russian society.

The director inherited the script creation of his first two works, still starting from the family blood relationship, starting from the ordinary daily life of the couple, gradually eliciting two very different family backgrounds, and then introducing the entangled money problem. In the end, the solution chosen by the mother was not surprising at all. It felt like the social news in the daily newspaper, full of taste of soap operas.

However, in this "vulgar" story, the director's author style characteristics are constantly shining: fixed long shots, dim cool colors, restrained and calm dialogue, appropriate and suggestive classical soundtrack, inadvertently infiltrating a little bit Suspenseful atmosphere. The youth gang fights at the end are really amazing, and the class issue is once again highlighted; the ending scene of a family reunion obviously echoes the opening scene, but it is full of irony.
