page eight This video is worth watching. What I want to talk about here is the author of those two paintings---Christopher Wood.
As stated in the film, he died of lying on rail at the age of 29. The painting that Johnny gave to Nancy in the film made me think for a long time, because I suspected that Johnny finally left the UK to go to the place in the painting. That’s why it took me a long time to find out where our painter who died young was painting. It is a famous tourist attraction in South France---Nice, a picturesque place that makes people reluctant to leave. Then, there are two possible options on the flight notice board that Johnny looked at. One is Istanbul and the other is Nice. There is no doubt that johnny went to nice.
At this point, I think Nancy will definitely go to that beautiful place to find Johnny. You can tell by the way she looks at the painting.

  • Johnny Worricker: The purpose of intelligence is to find the truth, not to confirm what we already believe. We're meant to look for what's there, not for what we want to be there.

Rollo Maverley: Come on, Johnny! Once they wanted communists, we gave them communists. Now they want Arabs, we give them Arabs. They decide what they're looking for, we find it for them.
