In fact, science fiction movies are not my style, except of course those at the level of "Star Wars". I thought it was another bad science fiction movie, but it was because there was a big place in the computer. Although it was reported later that the film’s box office was badly hit by Waterloo, I think it actually has some merits worth mentioning.
The general plot of the film is: a group of copied clones live in an artificial underground city and fabricated lies. They are managed in an orderly manner, and regularly there will be "lucky ones" sent to the paradise they thought after being brainwashed: the island. Until one day, a clone discovered this secret, so he broke through the line of defense with his beloved person, resisted constantly, and finally shattered the big conspiracy.
Personally, I think the first half is better. At first, like the clones inside, I thought the world was polluted, and the survivors were saved to the underground man-made cities. This is like many sci-fi movies, the future world is completely different from the current one, more technological and more mechanized. Therefore, the mood is stable, even accustomed, until the truth brought out by a small bug is revealed little by little: the world has not been destroyed, but the ambitious people have more advanced technology, and they are wealthy people. Create clones to extend their lifespan, and in order to achieve better results, educate these clones so that they have their own thinking.
This is somewhat of the meaning of "Trumen's World". What was your mood when you were told that the facts that you have always trusted and confirmed were not the case? If you think that your real life turns out to be the same commodity or toy in the hands of others, what kind of world would it be? You will collapse or live like a clone, no matter what, even if you don’t know what you will face when you live.
The reason I like this movie is that I was blinded before the truth appeared just like clones. Although some of the scenes in the second half of the action movie are good and the rhythm is quite tight, there is nothing new. And there is a little problem with the selection of screenwriters. He chose to let the clones have thoughts and know the truth, survived the real people at the juncture of life and death, and finally released all the clones.
If you want to play a warning role, so that people should not be whimsical because of the development of technology, this will have a partial effect. It's just the last scene. When all the clones came up from the underground city and scattered on the desolate mountain, they were shot with a tragic and majestic sentiment, which made me feel like they were the survivors in "The Day After Day". But their expressions are at a loss and at a loss. I don’t know what this is. Is it because I want to throw a big problem to human beings so that they can reflect more deeply? It’s just a little embarrassing~
Of course, if you don’t think so much after watching it, "The Island" is still a very exciting movie.
