I'm afraid the director himself knows at least 10 ways to make this film more watchable

But he doesn't care.
The following are all personal opinions, and do not represent any organization, group, or friend, let alone you. You don't pay me taxes, why do I say what you want to hear?

Let's first say a few words for the director.
With my feet, this film deliberately follows a certain academic writing spirit, which is to try to use simple and uninteresting language to say something that is actually particularly fun. Therefore, the reader will not be distracted by the gorgeous rhetoric, nor will he be convinced by the author’s sense of humor or artistic beauty. The reader’s full attention is on the content itself, and the reader has only one choice, which is to get happiness from the content itself. Otherwise, the whole reading process will be unhappy.

In short, this film has no visual special effects, no in-depth analysis, no beautiful things other than rock paintings, no research process of peeling cocoons, no novel discoveries, and no fluent humor of language. There is no logical process in the plot layout...
The point of view from beginning to end is the 3D petroglyphs and music.
3D is for the display of rock paintings, and so is music.

The original intention of the director was to let the audience feel the primitive mentality without any prejudice.
Including the mindset of the creator and the mindset of primitive people entering the cave.
This purpose, trust me, really requires you to be particularly sensitive to art and music in order to capture it from the lens.
I don't know if I will be so moved after I actually enter the cave. But in fact, even though the director just used the 3D technology he didn't prefer, he wasn't so immersive in the end.
The documentary "The Power of Myth" describes another prehistoric cave painting in France: "It's like entering the womb that gave birth to all mankind."-The movie can't achieve that effect

no matter how three-dimensional it is . I believe in Herzobe. Willing to believe that all this is arranged.
The selection of interviews with archaeologists in winter is also arranged, and even the background is white and pure, which makes you unwilling.
Every archaeologist’s research is done quickly and quickly, and it’s also arranged. I'm afraid to inspire your admiration for them and divert your attention.
It is also arranged that there is no comparison with prehistoric rock paintings in other regions (except for comparing Venus). I am afraid that you will see these pictures from the perspective of cultural connotation, rather than pure artistic appreciation.
The only image of a human body in the cave, the director said that it could not be taken, did the staff there never take a picture? Ask us to see what's wrong? But this 80% is arranged, it is a half-orc after all, it will arouse some people's bestiality.

Now that the good things are done, let me talk about the bad things about this film.
1. There is really too little material. The film crew was only allowed to shoot for 6 days, 4 hours a day, and the material came out very short.
2. It feels that the film was shot too early, and the scientists didn't know much about the painters of these petroglyphs. Or they hide privately.
3. I am very interested in two studies. One is the computer depicting the shape and picture distribution of the entire cave, and the other is the study of the group of horses drawn by N groups of people before and after 5000 years... and then? The audience pricked their ears and wanted to hear the details, and the movie was gone. What does the distribution of the pictures show? Why did so many people finish that painting in 5000 years? If you don’t know, just say you don’t know. It doesn’t make sense to choose a head. Are you dying of me?
4. The researcher and the film crew are pretending to be deep and concealed. Seriously, you have these things on all five continents. Is it necessary? It's not that it's not precious, but that I have already decided to make a movie, so I got rid of it all, and rushed to see that it was a cavalry, so I was anxious to death?
5. Herzob's own pretentiousness will not be mentioned, just that virtue. There is a spoof of him in the series of Herzober's little people's books, which is really good to interpret this movie. Anything can be let him read the atmosphere of horror.

Cave of Forgotten Dreams quotes

  • Werner Herzog: The artist painted this bison with eight legs, suggesting movement - almost a form of proto-cinema.

  • Nicholas Conard: I think what's extremely important is that we realize that archeology today is not a heroic adventure with spades and picks, but high tech scientific work that's done with incredible detail.
