The latter is miserable. Basically all those who died in his hands were unjust deaths, like "homicide without discrimination." This kind of purely anti-social behavior is unlikely to appear in non-developed countries, just because of gender or racial discrimination. When social ethics issues aggravate the killing, it’s too stupid, and it seems unfair to others. As the saying goes, it’s not the job of our juniors to commit massacres. Of course, civic education in developed countries may not be the same. People want to commit a massacre, and I am too lazy to move because of a little bit of personal grievances. To a certain extent, this is still a driving force for social progress. There are always people who are willing to sacrifice the individual to awaken the collective.
This is why Canada doesn’t have lady gaga /pairs/Furong sister. It’s not that she doesn’t, but she doesn’t dare. Of course, I don’t know whether feminism is correct. The massacre, the cause of the massacre was still personal grievances.
