I have a habit of watching movies and American dramas: I must be an actor who is pleasing to the eye. For this standard, this movie is not very flattering; especially compared with the second generation representative of Beverly Rich, "90210", the two girls are not quite sunny in LA. Later, it turns out that they are of Mexican descent and become a negative second generation. After that, I also moved to East LA.
The director of the film is probably quite ambitious, trying to integrate all the highlights from similar films in his film, such as the bully who loves money and annoying wife, the married man who hooks up with girls, and the rich lady loves her after her family changes. Poor boy, love story in law firm, racial integration, etc. It gives you a sense of identification with familiarity while watching the movie, but you feel that you are being dragged around by dozens of lines and you can't find your center of gravity. However, because of the burdens buried in advance, the audience will always step on one or two, which is why I mentioned the "a little bit of surprise" earlier.
The non-fluidity of the ramblings does not only come from the director. The acting skills and expressions of the actors also make the whole story a little far-fetched.
But after all, I'm a good "film critic" who just wants to find a relaxing and entertaining film without thinking about it. The happy ending added a bit of joy to the night of writing the thesis. A metaphor for the whole watching process is: the director tried to say a lot of things to me, but he did not express well enough, which made people a little dizzy, but in the end, I would say to the director: anyways, I get u, watching this For many years of movies, we still have this tacit understanding.
