It’s been a long time since I watched a movie that moved me so much. The whole story tells the story of a stuttering boy joining the debate team for his beloved girl. It is a pity that the girl took advantage of the boy. This is not an inspirational story. The stuttering boy did not win the championship or return to beauty in the end. But he at least gets a pizza which he desires for long time.
As a debater, I really understand that sometimes some thoughts and feelings cannot be expressed in words. Even if you have high skills. The truth is so simple, even a few words are too extravagant for it. In the end, the stuttering boy raised his middle finger unreservedly to the girl who played with her, and he didn't turn his head back when the girl's endless words hit back. Love brings boys into the complex emotional world. These emotions often require verbal venting and guidance in the hearts of ordinary people, but at the end of the words they always deviate from their original affection. Become confusing and hesitate and deceive yourself. So this is why it is difficult for a debater to have faith, and dialectical thinking is illusory. This is not what I said, Kant said.
The boy can only choose his own way, his own interpretation. Categorize those emotions, sort them, give meaning, and then get lost, then wonder, and worry. His dad said that you won't worry about these things at a certain age, and you will feel that it doesn't matter what you are still alive. People's cognition is not the same, but the methods to explain cognition are always limited. But when we really have no way to explain our cognition in our own way, we have to give up and follow blindly. However, the boy who stutters is always confident in the future. This is a fairly literary film, with a little prince's charm. There are interesting contrasts in the film. When the debaters are eloquent, we can't always hear what they are talking about, but the few words of the stuttering boy are just a few words. A large number of shots are used to hint at the boy's changing and struggling psychology. But the occasional narration brought the audience back to the third party's field of vision. I was touched by the simple and unpretentious emotions that are not clear, although not smooth but not depressing, the director's artistic skills are very good.
This is a film that does not require thinking, but needs to be felt and moved, and he did make better than a great debater. I suggest watching children who are always speechless on the court.
