Sometimes a good movie needs a good audience. Fortunately, I finished watching it patiently. At the end of this movie, there was a warm oil in the suspense. The last bell was a promise. The old man went to death peacefully because he thought his wife was calling her, so he responded with death. Even if this is the liberation of twelve years of longing for the old man, it can’t justify the crimes of the two perverted boys, especially Ethan, a piece of shit. It’s not that the movie is new or well shot. , Just the plot setting, the actors are not overly exaggerated, and the past is interspersed and the main line is not disrupted. It is a movie worth watching.
Next are a few details that I feel impressed:
1. In the middle of the night, two perverted teenagers adjusted the temperature of the old man's room to the lowest level, which caused the glass in the bedroom window to shatter. It can be seen that because the room is too cold, the breath that comes out has become mist. But he sat there motionless as if waiting for something, from 3 o'clock to 5 o'clock. Only later did he realize that he might think that his wife was back, so he wanted to see her in a more energetic manner, and waited for her to "show up." This also corresponds to the two abnormal teenagers who said that no matter how haunted the house is, the old man is not afraid at all.
2. The police came to look at the door of their house in the middle of the night and said that the neighbors complained that there was a woman screaming in their basement. He asked, are you sure it's a woman's call? When the police said "yes", the old man's expression had no fear at all, but a funny and strange "joy". Only later did he know, because he felt that all this was because of his wife's return.
3. The second thing that impressed me was that the old man broke himself with the gun when he saw the bell. When I first watched it, I vaguely guessed that the bell might be an agreement between him and his wife. Seeing the part of the bell he gave to his wife in the memory, I almost cried... "I will come as long as you need it". Maybe the old man has been waiting for this moment, waiting for a trigger (trigger) in the past twelve years. The filming is really good, because there are few clips, but the reversal is not rigid at all, because after the death of his wife, the old man will naturally become a perverse, hostile, soulless old man.
4. No one cares about your so-called truth. One of the things that irritated me the most was that when Ethan insisted on going to the old man’s basement, he kept repeating "Don’t you want to know the truth? We have the right to know the truth!" I really wanted to rush into the movie. Burst his head and tell him, "No one cares about the truth of your shit, you don't have the so-called shit right to go to someone else's house to find something but the purpose is just to satisfy your own curiosity!"
5. Color. In the real world, the old man’s house is really a standard filter for ghost films, with high-contrast cool colors, dark and cold. And the warm-toned home can only exist in the memory of the old man forever. Even the rooms converted into wards are flooded with sunlight.
6. The old man protected Ethan's mother more than ten years ago. This is just a guess, if the old man hadn't called the police and arrested Ethan's father more than ten years ago, he and his mother might have been raped by his father's family. His mother has not managed this community all the time, it shows that his mother and the old man's family as neighbors did not feel unsafe or uncomfortable.
In general, the devil is not to be seen.
