The story goes like this: an old woman suffering from cancer recalls the entangled youth of love and hatred. In just four days of intertwining memories and reality, the old and the new, the predecessors and the younger generations understand and open their hearts to each other. The script is obviously very ambitious and contains various elements such as family affection, love, friendship, conscience, redemption and even feminism. Most of the movies made by this script are directed at Uncle Oscar. But Spider Man has said that the greater the ability, the greater the responsibility. Once the director can't distinguish the priority and tries to develop in multiple lines, the result will be the lack of a clear theme in the whole movie, and the clues are numerous and messy. The final result is the audience. Did not understand. A good movie must first explain the story. No matter how profound the meaning is, it is useless no matter how literary and artistic the film is.
Of course, this film is also a good choice for those who like romance films. It's just that you don't have to conform to the usual logic of love when watching, and the love between the hero and the heroine comes and goes quickly. I still don't understand where they sparked the love sparks, nor do I understand what kind of emotional precipitation can enable them to be in love with each other. The director hardly made any preparations to make the couple fall in love and separate, and no one can be convinced. I tried to find some clues to prove why they love each other so passionately, but in the end it failed.
The performance of the main actor is also not flattering. When the female number one Claire Danes wants to express complicated feelings, she starts to stare at her innocent big eyes, but there is no expression in her eyes; the actor Patrick Wilson is talking to him. Clair's appearance in the opponent's scene is close to each other, and there is no spark at all. It is completely different from his performance in "As a Mother". The performances of other actors can only be considered satisfactory at best, but it is a young actor from the UK who plays Hugh Dancy, who also has a crush on the hero and the protagonist Buddy. His performance is impressive and commendable.
However, it is important to note that the picture and soundtrack of this film are so beautiful. From a photography point of view, the film should be selected as one of the top ten photographic films of the year, and the overall tone of the soundtrack is also very comfortable and gentle. The melody is also very nice. Although the two are beautiful and complement each other, they still can't change the decline of the whole film. Maybe the director should return to the photographer's old profession.
