Really great

Wilde's script and Rupert Everett's performance are simply perfect. That cynical and cynical character makes women love and hate. When you want to judge him as a complete dude, he is actually very affectionate. He never forgets his old love. Men hate him because he can't live as smart and freely as him. But at the critical moment, he is willing to cut his teeth for his friends and block the muzzle. There is something more perfect than him. A man? The voice of a woman. This is a man who only lives in his ideals.

An Ideal Husband quotes

  • Lord Arthur Goring: There's somebody I want you to talk to.

    Lord Caversham: What about?

Lord Arthur Goring: About me, sir.

Lord Caversham: Not a subject on which much eloquence is possible.

  • Gertrude: Yes, Arthur, it is Robert himself who wishes to retire from public life.

Lord Arthur Goring: Rather than risk losing your love, he would do anything. Has he not been punished enough?

Gertrude: We've both been punished. I set him up too high.

Lord Arthur Goring: Do not set him down now too low.
