If you look at this film as a science fiction film, you will be disappointed. In fact, it is just an educational film that warns everyone to stay away from drugs.

Update: I saw a lot of people saying that I misunderstood the director's meaning, please, is it because you guys think too much, okay? I specifically searched for interviews with directors and actors. The movie tells the story of two junkies with abnormal mentalities. If you don't believe it, search for it yourself.

Director: The movie is mainly about mental health
Director Interview: The main point of the movie is to let everyone pay more attention to the mentally abnormal people around you.

After reading it the first time, my biggest question is whether Isabel really exists. After watching it roughly for the second time, I discovered that the movie has always had a very obvious hint about Isabel's true identity.

Greg is a person addicted to prescription drugs. He may also suffer from schizophrenia and other diseases. At the beginning of the movie, when he started taking drugs, the camera turned to the window and a billboard for the drug treatment clinic appeared.

This billboard appeared many times in the movie

After Greg was fired by the boss, the two should have a small conflict, so when the two met, the boss asked his colleagues to call the security guard, but Greg imagined that he had killed the boss by mistake. After leaving the company, Greg met Isabel at the bar, and Isabel told him that Kendo was his ex-boyfriend, and Kendo's real identity should be a drug dealer.

After the boss "jumped", the two left the bar. On the way they left, the sign of the drug treatment clinic appeared again, which was the last clinic Greg went to.

On their way to the fast food restaurant, Isabel suddenly left to strike up a conversation with the person in the car. His true identity should be a drug addict who is a street girl who picks up customers in order to have money to buy drugs.

After picking up the customer, Isabel went back to the fast food restaurant to look for Greg, and the sign of the drug treatment clinic appeared again behind the two.

At this time, Greg had been wandering with Isabel for several weeks. Both of them looked like homeless men. The clerk kindly gave Greg the food that was off the shelf.

After picking up the guests, Isabel quickly took Greg to Kendo to buy drugs. After that, the two of them were intellectuals. The beautiful world was a fantasy of the two after taking drugs. The party they attended was in real life. In fact, people are holding a parade in China, and this has already been foreshadowed in the movie.

After the effect of the drug, the two had no choice but to return to the real world. The two who had been addicted and had no money had nowhere to go. They decided to go to the drug dealer Kendo. Back at the fast food restaurant, Isabel and the street girls asked for pepper spray. They were obviously each other. Acquainted.

Isabel and these street girls already know each other, they should be the same

Unable to distinguish between reality and illusion, Isabel killed the drug dealer and stole the drugs with a gun from the stolen car. In the end Isabel was captured by the police, and Greg escaped. After escaping, Greg went straight into the drug rehabilitation clinic that had been laid in front of him.

From the perspective of sci-fi movies, this movie is undoubtedly a failure. In essence, it only tells the story of two addicts dressed in sci-fi garb, and this foreshadowing is covered by the billboard of the drug rehabilitation clinic throughout the entire movie. In fact, the movie’s The idea is good, but the script is too thin, and it is so boring to shoot a story that could have been made more interesting.

Bliss quotes

  • Isabel Clemens: Fake, fake, fake, fake! Real!

  • Greg Wittle: But it's also kind of beautiful. It is. Look, I mean, even with the cops coming and with us running and just... You know, everyone's playing their part, and we're all... like, we never know how it's gonna end. One minute, we're roller-skating and laughing. Remember? Yeah, and then the next minute, can't even afford a sandwich, and then the next minute, you never know. That's what I love about here and what you created. You don't know what's gonna happen. It's fucked-up. And it's great. And I'm not leaving. I'm not leaving.
