I noticed this film from the movie commentary on Douyin, and I took the time to look for resources to watch the full version today.
(The commentary is really fucking!)
The genre is biography + plot + war, but at the end of the war platoon, there are not many descriptions, mainly PTSD. The plain narrative style, the cool use of the mirror, and the steady soundtrack really make the movie feel dull, even a bit rushing. But it can also be understood that after all, the superposition of the two serious topics of anti-war theme + post-war stress and trauma also makes people unable to jump. Similar films in recent years have followed this path.
The movie itself is actually good, and you can feel the charm of the movie when you watch it calmly. On the whole, it is like reading a Japanese novel. At the beginning there will always be some boring descriptions of the atmosphere, until the first climax
Thank you for your service, a beautiful irony. Thanks to the Bush administration’s heroic decision to start war, the father lost the time to accompany his children’s childhood growth, leaving countless small families torn apart and allowing the people in the Middle East to feel the scorching heat of the sand. The war has exchanged the right to price oil, exchanged the attitude of supremacy of the United States, destroyed OPEC's conspiracy and tricks, so that soldiers can get medical treatment in just nine months!
Michael Kohler and Joe Cole deserve continued attention.
