The freedom brought by the free Hip-Hop

As a diehard Hip-Hop for more than ten years, I often think about what Hip-Hop is; in addition to my own fanaticism, it may also be because people around me who know nothing about Hip-Hop ask me this from time to time. problem.

Hip-Hop is still far away from the Chinese in terms of culture. It was only accidental luck when I first came into contact with Hip-Hop, but I fell in love with it when I heard it, and I firmly believe that this will be the music I love for my whole life, despite this firm belief. It is more of a child's intuition. Looking back now, I think the point that Hip-Hop attracts me the most is probably two words: freedom.

In fact, this statement is applicable to any kind of art full of vitality. Art itself is a kind of human spiritual self-liberation, any so-called taboo can be released in art, and Hip-Hop is probably the most taboo form of music. As a kind of music that carried the mission of "low-level people fighting against the eggs in the world" in the early years, it is meaningless to talk about the so-called civilized rules, because these civilized rules have abandoned these low-level people in the sight and no one can see. The dark corners I want to see. But when you think about it carefully, "people who are restrained by life use music to create a respite of hope for their suffocated life" is not exclusive to Hip-Hop, or even exclusive to music, because "suffocation" and "despair" are a kind of human beings. The general living conditions exist not only in class struggles at the social level, but also in the self-resistance at the spiritual level of everyone. Hip-Hop is such a breathing channel that allows us to increase oxygen supply in the brain. Rethinking life, especially for the question of "what is Hip-Hop?" In fact, there has always been only a (constantly updated) definition of art, but no so-called cultural definition; people who try to frame Hip-Hop with origins are not only ignorant of Hip -Hop's development history, not to mention even misinterpreting the artistic value of Hip-Hop.

Because the energy of Hip-Hop itself is far from being as limited as class struggle, Hip-Hop, which has now become the new mainstream, has a more powerful carrier function. The lower lippa with the big golden chain on the bottom of the banknote can be said, and so can the positive emotions, spirit, and social problems; the elegance of Hip-Hop is not because of its vulgarity, but because of its infinite possibilities outside of its vulgarity.

Lil Dicky represents a new path to new possibilities. Just like Eminem brought the low-level white perspective and Kanye brought the middle-class black perspective, LD brought the middle-class white perspective that the current Hip-Hop lacks (comedy/parody rap itself is not new) but no matter which class it is. From the perspective, the final question is the same: can a free Hip-Hop really bring freedom to our life or the world?

This problem is similar to the problem faced by comedy, just like the famous stand-up Nanatte said, is laughter really the best medicine? not necessarily. In a sense, comedy, music, and even art give us only an illusion of hope, a possibility of breathing, rather than real hope and practical breathing. When the effects of dopamine pass, life is still the same hardship, no matter what class we grow up in, what environment we are in, the illusion of freedom we yearn for is the same. Dave grew up and explored for a season, hoping to avoid stereotypes and traditional routines and walk his own way, but in the end he returned to the "traditional mode" of the first episode. Of course, Dave has developed better in his career by the end of the season, but he lost his girlfriend who supported him all the way, and finally changed his mind temporarily also heralded the disappearance of his creative freedom. It can be guessed that he may lose more in the future. The free Hip-Hop makes people become farther and farther away from freedom. It must be said that it is a contradictory tragedy, and this tragedy is opened and ended with a joyful and rather absurd song. It is indeed a very good ingenuity.

The first few episodes are objectively funny, but personally feel that Atlanta is not as funny as Atlanta. It may be because it is not as sharp as Atlanta. It is gentler and more tender, especially gata's bipolar, garage drama, and producer and Asian Asians. The three episodes of women are remarkable. Although the episode of pressing myself to death in childhood has a stronger impact, it is actually nothing new, and it feels normal. Looking forward to the next season.
