A very good film among historical films and musicals, this is also the first Indian film I came into contact with. The protagonist Ashoka goes from a prince to a bloodthirsty tyrant to a devout believer who promotes Buddhism. This is a personal epic. Perhaps the true character and fortunes of Ashoka in history should be more complicated. However, the film chooses the two angles of love and family to explain the reasons for his changes, which is also convincing.
The singing and dancing scenes in the film are impressive. Indian dance embodies not only sexiness, posture, but also health and strength. The film made in 2001, when I look at it now, Fuhuadao is still outdated.
