Afterthought

Compared to the fierce female protagonist, the male protagonist is a herbivore. As a stalker, he actually doesn't want to hurt people, and he doesn't have the guts to kill people as a pastime. Locked up, the heroine wanted to get her love, but was deprived of control step by step. In the end, she also completely lost her body freedom and became a real pet tragically.

The heroine is a complete murderer. I don't feel guilty psychologically, I get pleasure from killing, temporarily forget the powerlessness and unpleasantness of reality, and gain control of real life.

In the end, is this a disguised salvation? From arbitrarily killing to just hurting the male protagonist for fun. What if the hero dies someday?

Pet quotes

  • Nate: Are you stabbing me?

  • Holly: And now what? Suddenly you got me all figured out?

Seth: I wish. No. Mostly I just felt sorry for you.

Holly: You... felt sorry for me?

Seth: Yeah, it's the part where you talk about love.

[Seth reads a passage from Holly's journal]

Seth: 'Love is just a label for our biological imperatives'. I don't know. Felt ignorant to me.

Holly: Are you really going to lecture me on love, Seth? You're keeping a girl in a cage.
