The angel went back

It's been a long time since I watched the movie to cry. This movie made me cry when I recollected it. It doesn't matter whether the Nazi education it shows is in place or whether the same-sex friendship it shows is delicate or not, it doesn't matter. It can move me, and it is the best movie in my heart.
Albrech, an aesthetic poet, who is sensible, delicate, kind and innocent, seemed so vulnerable in the face of war. He left like an angel, preferring to die instead of facing a world lacking humanity. Really, as his father said, he is too "weak", but I despise the ruthless and powerful. Living in the environment of that era was the misfortune of the angel, so let's treat him as he goes back. . . . . .
What about the current society? Don’t you believe in tears? Some powerful and ugly people are ruling society, and kindness sometimes seems too insignificant. But I am still willing to be moved by some so-called weak people, moved them to fight against the world with a golden heart, moved them to sing all the beauty of the world with a perceptual heart, moved them to maintain in a utilitarian society Sober, sticking to my principles and pursuits.
In a world where war makes people crazy, he chants the music of beauty alone.
In a society where utilitarianism blinds people's eyes, they use pure eyes to discover and celebrate the beauty of the world.

Before the Fall quotes

  • Christoph Schneider: Pull yourself together!

Albrecht Stein: Pull myself together? Do you know what we just did? You shouldn't have shot! You shouldn't have shot!

Tjaden: I didn't give the order. Your father said they had guns!

Albrecht Stein: Why are you looking at me like that?

Friedrich Weimer: I'm not looking at you.

Albrecht Stein: I know what you're thinking. Don't look at me like that!

  • Albrecht Stein: [reading from his essay] "As childish as it sounds, the winter time and the sight of freshly fallen snow always fill us with inexplicable joy. Perhaps because as children, we associated it with Christmas. I always imagine myself the hero who killed dragons, rescued virgins, and freed the world from evil. As we went out yesterday to find the prisoners, I felt like that little boy who wanted to save the world."

    Vogler: Albrecht, stop.

Albrecht Stein: But as we returned, I understood that I am part of the evil that I wanted to save us from.

    Vogler: Albrecht, stop.

Albrecht Stein: Shooting prisoners is wrong. They were not armed, as Governor Stein told us, to incite us. We didn't shoot men, only children.

    Vogler: Out!
