After 1 and a half hours of watching the disc, it seems that three hours have passed, perhaps because of the three different pieces. When everything is over, I can only sit there blankly, unable to describe the pain after the torrential rain. There is no solution, the power of love, the favor of the Lord, the power of Allah, the friendship of brothers, the worldview of the mainstream Western society, or the UN troops that represent justice, nothing will work.
The work of Macedonian director Micho Manchevski, the Chinese translation of the name is coming. 1994 Venice Golden Lion Award, 1995 Oscar nomination for Best Foreign Language Film, 1996 Independent Freedom Award. This is a work completely different from mainstream Western movies. No matter in terms of film values, shooting methods, or music configuration, it is incompatible with mainstream movies. The film's narrative method is very peculiar. It is a complete flashback. The only thing in my mind is "Irrevocable" which is a work of the same subject and the same narrative style.
"If everything can be done from scratch, that would be great..." Watching this kind of film is a challenge. Apart from those feelings of despair, what impresses me the most is Aleksandar's love of hometown, the Pulitzer Prize-winning Photographer, Abandoned the superior western life, left what I loved, and ran to my childhood hometown and childhood girlfriend. In the end he was unsuccessful, he no longer belonged to that piece of land, although he lay there forever.

A young priest in the Macedonian countryside hides an escaped woman, and love grows. When they were about to go to London to find the photographer's uncle, the woman's family found her. The woman died under the gun of her brother, and love flew by like a bird, and there is nothing we can do!
The second part: FACES (face) --- City
Anne of London is a beautiful woman. She has a husband who loves her, but she also has a lover, Alex, who can't let go. Alex is a photographer from Macedonia and came to London 16 years ago. In fact, we know very well that this Alex is the uncle whom the young priest is going to defect to in the first part. There was a picture that made our hearts palpitate. In the picture, a Macedonian woman died under the gun of her brother, and the priest looked at her. The woman's husband was very aware of her cheating. Sadly, he died in a mess in the restaurant and his face was beaten into a blur.
The third part: PICTURE (picture) --- Macedonian village
Alex returned to his hometown after 16 years of absence. There are disputes here from time to time. He was shot and killed by a friend in order to take the girl out, and the girl was finally able to escape. Back to the beginning of the first part of the scene, we finally clearly know the cause and effect of the story. The girl escaped to the priest's residence, although she could not escape the fate of death later. The arid land finally ushered in a downpour, and Alex's body was lying in the rain.
The whole story became somewhat of a reincarnation fate because of the confusion of the form. When I first saw it, I didn't fully understand it, and I didn't even see the war and fear. But looking at it again, it is full of irresistible confusion. It turns out that everything is due to the rampant narrow-minded nationalism. The relationship between people in the film is also subtle and intricate. There is no frontal rain of bullets, but every shot is shocking.
Family affection and love have become vulnerable, the original race disputes are so cruel. The three stories come to the same end by different routes. The background of the film is Macedonia and the Balkans, which are shrouded in the shadow of civil war. There is no possible relationship, personal contradiction, return and destiny. The three stories reveal the tragedy of war in the intertwining of characters, and narrow racism is the culprit of all this.
