God, science and people

Create things and play tricks!

The marriage of close relatives caused their daughter to contract congenital diseases. Because of the death of his beloved daughter, Darwin, who wanted to deny God and soul, was troubled by illness and hallucinations. On the one hand, he strongly hates the existence of God and does not believe that God has created all kinds of unexpected creatures and his own way of life. On the other hand, he is unable to extricate himself from the illusion of his daughter. While denying God, he believes that God is torturing him.

There are times when great men are vulnerable, and Darwin is almost defeated. They use a treatment method called hydrotherapy to treat the disease, but the effect is not good. How fragile human life is in the face of nature, for the sake of his daughter, he knelt before God and begged God to let his daughter go. But it didn't work, God still took her away. Darwin, a helpless soul, still needs to find comfort, but science can only make him more and more crazy, and you are more and more helpless in my heart. During the treatment, the doctor asked him if he had faith. Mental diseases also need mental drugs to treat. There is no cure without faith.

This is another paradox, making things trick people. It is said that a key opens a lock, and the problem of spiritual problems can only be solved with the key of the soul. Science is ultimately powerless in this regard. Scientific problems are solved by science, human problems need to be solved by people, and spiritual problems must be solved by spirit. The daughter's death made science seem weak and weak. Science cannot save people's lives. It can only be extended slightly.

People cannot do without science and faith. Regardless of whether that belief is man or God.

I think this movie should be called Darwin's Daughter Anne's Memoirs. It can't be called Darwin's biography. It tells about a very ordinary family relationship, but this Anne is Darwin's daughter. The film is boring. The filming is more like a schizophrenic madman. Perhaps the director's psychology can be regarded as a better way to bring out Darwin's deep love for his daughter. I'm not used to it. 2 and a half minutes

One's ego struggles. A bit too straightforward.

Creation quotes

  • [from trailer]

Emma Darwin: Do you not care that you and I may be separated for all eternity?

  • Reverend John Innes: Charles. Charles, my old friend, there you are. May I join you?

Charles Darwin: Yes. Yes, of course.

Reverend John Innes: Mrs. Darwin has told me about the book you're writing.

Charles Darwin: Oh, no, no, not anymore, thank goodness.

Reverend John Innes: You mean you finished it?

Charles Darwin: It's been finished for me, actually. A Mr. Alfred Russel Wallace has arrived independently at exactly the same opinion. Expressed in a... in a mere twenty pages. Now there's brevity for you. I had covered two-hundred-fifty so far and have come to a dead end, so whilst having wasted twenty years on the project, I have at least rid of it.

Reverend John Innes: Well... Well, the Lord moves in mysterious ways.

Charles Darwin: Hmmm, yes, he does, doesn't he? You know, I was remarking only the other day, how he has endowed us in all of his blessed generosity with not one but nine-hundred species of intestinal worm, each with its own unique method of infiltrated the mucosa and burrowing through to the bloodstream. And on the love that he shows for butterflies by inventing a wasp that lays its eggs inside the living flesh of caterpillars.

Reverend John Innes: I have said on many previous occasions, it is not for us to speculate at His reasons.

Charles Darwin: Oh, no, we can leave that to Mr. Wallace! Shall I advise him to stay abroad, do you think? With his opinions if he shows his face around here, he may be required to kneel on rock salt!
