Based on the second novel of Reid Jonsson's semi-autobiographical trilogy. It took place in Sweden from 1958 to 1959.
12-year-old Ingmar (Anton Granzelius) is always in trouble and haunting his mother;
Ingmar didn't know that his mother was actually very sick. Mom J is actually very violent.
When he and his brother were sometimes sent to live with relatives. Ingmar, his uncle Gunner (Thomas von Blomson) and his wife Ula (Kiki Landgren) started their lives in a rural town in Lynx Land.

He met all kinds of people in the city. Saga (Melinda Kinnaman), a self-confident tomboy of his age, Sika, loves him and makes him very competitive in boxing matches.
Even more weird are Franson (Magnus Lask), a man who constantly repairs the roof, and Mr. Avidson (Diderick Gustafson)
An old man, Avidson, who lives downstairs, asked Ingmar to read the underwear catalog to him, which showed the literary value of advertising. I also burst into tears
Later, Ingmar was reunited with his family, but his mother quickly deteriorated and was hospitalized. He and his brother went to the city to live with their uncle Sandberg (Leif Ellison), but his wife thought the boy was naughty and mischievous. After his mother died, he was sent back to Bobcat Land.
During this time, Mr. Arvidsson passed away; Gunnar now shares the house with a large Greek family, the house is too crowded, he let Ingemar live with the old Mrs. Arvidsson.

Sikka and another girl were jealous for fighting for Ingmar, and he began to bark like a dog. She led him into the boxing ring. After losing the game, she told him angrily that his beloved dog (he thought it was in the kennel) had actually been euthanized. This incident, together with the death of his mother, was too much for him, and he locked himself in a cabin "summer house" in Gunner's backyard.
When Ingmar lived here in seclusion, he thought of his mother's death, his dog, and a constantly changing world.
Throughout the movie, Ingmar tells himself over and over again that the situation may be worse. He repeated several examples: a man who took shortcuts in track and field was shot to death by a javelin.
There are also several stories about the dog Lycra, which is the first creature sent to orbit by the Russians (there is no way to get her back to orbit). This is obviously the most important, with the starry sky image of the freeze frame. It always reminds people of Christmas.
The end of the film is the broadcast of the famous heavyweight boxing championship between Ingmar Johnson of Sweden and Floyd Patterson of the United States. After Johansson won, the whole city cheered, but now Ingmar and Sikar are asleep on the sofa.
