Even now, Mrs. Susan's image is still very vivid. This accurate grasp of the relationship between the sexes, of course, comes from keen observation and practice on the one hand, and talent on the other hand. Behind the text, the author Jane Austen's sly, intelligent and malicious smile is faintly revealed. I think that with the serious imbalance between the status of men and women at that time, such a novel should be able to set off an uproar in women's hearts and become a textbook for dealing with the relationship between the sexes at that time. Of course, in the eyes of a moralist with integrity, Mrs. Susan’s actions are disgusting, but what she did was to fight for herself (and her daughter) in such a weak environment. However, as a young widow, her beauty and wisdom, as well as her deep understanding of men, may also be her only powerful weapon. What Mrs. Susan did was nothing more than using this weapon to the extreme.
The style of the story is very simple Austen, the plot is inadvertently ups and downs, but the difference from "Pride and Prejudice" is that every crisis is resolved by Mrs. Susan's own three-inch tongue. And her self-confident state in the face of the crisis, and her agility to act on the spot, made the man addicted to it without realizing it. Can not help but make people breathtaking and terrifying. Falling into love would be blind, but in front of emotional masters like Mrs. Susan, this blindness would become very dangerous. In the story, Mrs. Susan did not deliberately frame others-although she did cause harm to the people around her-but if she wanted to, she had such an ability. And if she becomes her captive completely emotionally, she will be broken if she is careless. When faced with a charming person like Mrs. Susan, it is difficult to avoid falling in love as long as she is willing. In the story of "Love and Friendship", men's paranoia, pedantic, innocent, and stupidity are fully displayed. Perhaps this does not represent all Jane Austen's views on men, but at least it is the absurd shouting in the face of a male-dominated world. Women are not at a disadvantage in terms of intelligence compared to men, but the world is dominated by this group of seemingly stupid and paranoid men, and women can only obtain property and even the right to survive through men. This is quite sad.
In the story "Austin Book Club", everyone can get inspiration or influence from Jane Austen's story. After watching "Pride and Prejudice", I think it is true, and after "Love and Friendship", this idea I'm even more convinced. Whether it is ten years or a hundred years or two hundred years, there will always be people who continue to grow up and get old again, and the problems faced by generations at a certain stage-love, friendship, family affection, and the entanglement and jealousy Fanaticism and fanaticism are generally indistinguishable. Our nature has not changed much because of the times, and our society has not fundamentally changed in essence. In terms of gender relations, Jane Austen is a master character, and "Love and Friendship" is one of her textbooks.
