MV traces are too obvious

The name of the film is easily reminiscent of the kind of evil/cult works dominated by "violent aesthetics", but in fact it is a realistic social critical drama. This new director's contrast treatment of the subject matter is a little bit beyond me. Unexpected. The first half pays great attention to the audiovisual style: slow motion, split screen, voice-over and other techniques seem to bring some freshness to this superficial American youth theme, but it is too much like "Spring Break" by Harmony Korine. Exposed too obvious traces of MV. The director is too obsessed with creating an atmosphere with popular music and neglecting the advancement of narrative.

The director’s method of exposing real problems hides the layout of suspenseful genres, which is quite commendable. However, the focus of the second half of the script discussion has shifted from "Internet hackers invading personal privacy" to "slut humiliation", which seems to avoid the more important things, or It was the suspicion of catching up with the "Rice Rabbit" craze that turned the climax of the massacre in the last scene into a comic-style violent catharsis. The serious tone created by the whole film collapsed in an instant, and even though it reluctantly returned to the topic of "Internet hackers" in the end, it appeared extremely weak and frivolous. It's sighing to waste this excellent subject of reality criticism.

It's another movie about an online social platform, but unfortunately it's out of balance. The front is too serious, and it feels like a degenerate film of American teenagers who are drunk with money, but the style of the back is abruptly changed, turning into a bloody and violent B-level film. On the contrary, the overall entertainment is quite strong. The dark line is actually satirizing the current US government, which is a little interesting.

    1. Another cult movie. 2. Complaint: The poster is seriously not attached to the plot of the movie. 3.5.6 points are high.

Assassination Nation quotes

  • Donny: Did you guys ever see that video of the family on safari in Africa and they get mauled by, like, seven tigers?

Lawrence: No, Donny. I missed that.

    Donny: It's pretty cool.

  • Em: Like, what's the motive behind 300-plus mass shootings every year? There is none. People just burn out, wanna take down their little universe.
