"Sound of Light": The director wants to drive the audience crazy with flashes, fast forward, and bad music

I don't like it. Frankly speaking, Portman is very good, Jude Law is also very good, the original intention of the story is very good, and innovative, but there is a lot of content in my opinion is unnecessary. When watching, I often stare at the screen, waiting for the end of a paragraph, wondering what effect it has on the following, but the result is endless, and in the end a lot of content is meaningless. For example, in the end Portman sang four songs at the concert, not edited, but singing and dancing all the time. I just want to say: this is not Lady Gaga, this is not the famous Queen’s concert, nor is it a classic song, but ugly music. The costume style is even more terrifying, even if Portman tried his best, it’s true. Is it necessary to show these? not at all.

The favorite paragraph is the first ten minutes, simple, clear, and shocking, directly into the theme: this is a movie about gun violence. However, after the background is laid out, the characters are portrayed in a very general way. In the following story, there are many heroines recording, learning to dance, enjoying life, and playing wild. In my opinion, they have nothing to do with the theme. If it is said that this is done to avoid directly discussing campus shootings, then in the end, this approach does not work well. Not only did people feel that they didn’t see what they wanted to see, but they were also forced to watch concerts they didn’t want to see.

It's not that Bobo is not good at singing, but that the music is not well written. I hope to show the kind of dance music that Lady GaGa made when she debuted, but it was so different from Lady GaGa that I looked at the fans who screamed in the audience and wanted to say: "It's so exhausting, you guys worked hard."

The film hopes to show the relationship between popular music and violence. It is true that violence is mentioned in some rap or rock songs, and so do movies, which affect young people. The female protagonist is a victim, and later became a singer, but because of her MV, she also inspired a new violent massacre. However, the film seems to forget that the cause of such incidents is not only cultural influence, but also the lack of strict gun management, social contradictions, and the lack of attention to people's mental illnesses. Many people who will carry out this kind of massacre have mental problems, and they can buy guns at will. Isn't it the biggest problem in this country?

Of course, the original intention of the film itself is good, to make everyone pay attention to this kind of event, but there are many ways to tell this kind of story. I think the most straightforward thing is to truly restore the terrorist attack and explore the reasons behind it. Rather than wasting two hours watching an emotional singer convulse and lose his temper. Because you know, the singers in the movie, even if they have never experienced shooting, as long as there is alcohol, they are all carved out of the same mold.

Of course, as mentioned earlier, Portman and Jude Law’s performances in the film are worthy of attention. The roles they perform are particularly different from their previous works, and they are their best performances in recent years.

Another big opinion about the film is that the director has been trying to blind the audience's eyes. There have been multiple flashes of continuous flashing for several minutes, as well as the continuous flashing of stage lights. I understand what he is going to show, but just a few flashes. Is it necessary for so long? Many times I have to cover my eyes or look down at the screen. I really can't stand looking straight for a long time. The same goes for fast-forward paragraphs. When you think it’s going to stop, you just keep going, and fast-forward until your eyes can’t stand it. . . It feels like the director wants to drive the audience crazy with flashes, fast forwards, and bad music, but can this help tell the theme of the film? Obviously not.

As mentioned before, among the movies showing gun violence and terrorist attacks this year, July 22 is the best, followed by Hotel Mumbai.

Suddenly I remembered the last time Bobo and Qiuhua collaborated with Closer. At any rate, that movie has good music. .

This is really the best movie I've seen in the past two days with POP Star as the protagonist.

A, Her name is America. The trashier, the better. Pop is trash, trash is pehnomenal. One for the money, two for the show, three to get ready, and four we go. The place you think is bad is this piece nice place.
