"Midsummer Night Sex Comedy"
This is the tenth movie directed by Woody Allen and my least favorite one. Because it has no meaning other than looking pretty.
Also holding the same view is Richard Schicker, a film critic of Time Magazine, who said that this is the only bland film made by Woody Allen.
A brisk, intermission-style genre comedy movie. Beautiful summer, jungle, butterfly nets, tennis, archery, vacation, and three pairs of lovers, three of them want to sleep with each other's wives.
The movie has no other meaning.
Mendelssohn’s music, brisk emotions. Woody wanted to make this movie like a dessert. Indeed, the green forest holiday villa is very joyful.
But the movie is really boring to horrible, boring to the movie I want to smash the screen. Movie theater audiences also thought so. "A Midsummer Night Comedy" and "Sentimental September Day" were Woody Allen's most commercial failures.
