Pastoral-"Fly Away Home"

Pastoral style pictures, music, quiet narration, quietly lyrical, without too many plot waves, even the death of the mother in the car accident at the beginning was gently carried by the quiet narrative and slow music. At the end of the last century when the complex, commercial blockbusters, and special effects technology began to flood the film and television industry, this slow, touching, healing and warm "Fly Away Home" brings the audience a spiritual experience of returning to the natural mind and body. The whole film hardly mentions the pain caused by the mother’s departure, but it gives the audience a deeper and deeper emotional blending-countless dream-like pictures of sky soaring and people flying together, countless picturesque scenery plus lightness. Fragrant soothing music-comforted by the film itself, and even more comforted by the feelings of the heart's strong desire to release.

The acting skills of the characters in the play are not perfect, some emotions just float on the surface, and some of the characters' emotions are not in place. The actress Anna Paquin, who won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress at a young age, did not perform well enough in the film. A large part of the film's success stems from the superb shooting level of Cayle De Chanel, who has created many classic pictures. The film presents a beautifully suffocating picture, and it can be interspersed with the narrative in time when the audience's emotions reach a climax. Therefore, it can be said that the film does not have an absolute climax, but it is full of climaxes everywhere. In contrast, some "blockbusters" that show so-called certain feelings that blow up planes and destroy tanks at every turn have caused tens of thousands of people to empty alleys. They may become "stunned classics", but they will definitely not become classics.

A good film should be more emotional investment, for the director, the actors, and every component of the film. In this way, the audience will have more emotional investment and become more likely to become a classic.

The background music at the beginning and the end of the film is nice-beautiful scenery and music are even better~

Fare thee well

My own true love

Farewell for a while

I'm going away

But I'll be back

Though I go 10,000 miles

10,000 miles

My own true love

10,000 miles or more

The rocks may melt

And the seas may burn

If I should not return

Oh don't you see

That lonesome dove

Sitting on an ivy tree

She's weeping for

Her own true love

As I shall weep for mine

Oh come ye back

My own true love

And stay a while with me

If I had a friend

All on this earth

You've been a friend to me

-"10,000 Miles"

Fly Away Home quotes

  • [watching Amy lead the geese around]

Thomas Alden: It's amazing, isn't it, how they, uh, follow her around like that?

DNR Officer: Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's, uh, called imprinting. The first living thing a goose sees when it's born, it automatically assume is its mother.

    Thomas Alden: Huh.

DNR Officer: They'll follow her anywhere.

  • Thomas Alden: GET OFF OF MY LAND!
