If you appreciate it from a purely entertaining perspective, there is no need to waste energy. Excessive political correctness is disgusting. The film did not discuss the way out for blacks.

The whole film is full of passion and strong artistry. Unfortunately, the emotion of the film is too extroverted, and the performance is too extreme and radical. In particular, although some violent scenes make it appear particularly shocking, it is always a bit superficial and too much. Compared with the deep and solemnity of Twelve Years a Slave, this film is still immature, and the strength to really hit people's hearts is still insufficient, which always makes people feel that Nate Parker's personal venting of anger is too heavy.

It's okay to watch the scenes one after another, but there are too many problems to watch together. The director is good at spreading racial hatred and cultivating radical emotions. Don't make films to help politicians make promotional films. Everyone understands it as an affirmative film. In fact, racists would make films like this.
Nat Turner: Rebel!
Nat Turner: [after Nat watches a horrific scene between a slave and slave owner and has to preach to the slaves] Brethren, I pray you'll sing to the Lord, a new song. Sing praise in assembly of the righteous. Let the saints be joyful in glory, let them sing aloud on their beds. Let the high praise of God be on the mouths of the saints and a two-edged sword in their hand to execute vengeance on the demonic nations! And punishment on those peoples! To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fens of iron! To execute on them this written judgement! This honor have all his saints! PRAISE THE LORD! PRAISE THE LORD! SING TO HIM A NEW SONG! PRAISE THE LORD! PRAISE THE LORD!
