This film is based on William Golding’s novel of the same name, and the setting is similar to the well-known American drama "Lost". After the air disaster, the group of the rest of their lives came to the deserted island and lived a primitive life, seeking help while establishing a new group life. system.

People will find and establish order in disorder.

When the civilized group first set foot on the deserted island, Ralf was admired. He represented democracy and respected this modern Western civilization. He respected and cared for the weak and hoped that everyone would unite and help each other; but when hunger and fear prevail, civilization is in front of survival. It seemed insignificant. The primitive foraging method "hunting" gained support. At this time Jack gained support. He represented the crude and savage primitive civilization. The strong and powerful people in the group who had the advantage of wilderness survival followed him and established a new Community.

So there are "us" and "them".

The two leaders, Ralf elegant and Jack brutal, each have charisma. It's just that when there is a shortage of survival resources, the thirst for survival in human nature is infinitely magnified, and what licks the soul is the thirst to meet the needs of survival and the insatiable fear.

There is a fragment in the film. The Jack faction discovers an unknown cave. It is said that there are "monsters" in it. Fear strikes, and the crowd even more huddled together. Jack also cut off the head of the black wild boar he was hunting and inserted it on the sharpened stake as a sacrifice to the monster. A few days later, the pig’s head remained intact, except that a group of flies had reveled around the pig’s head. There is no explanation in the film, but in the book, this is the origin of the title "Lord of the Flies".

There is also a clip in the film. After the Jack sect mistakenly killed the Ralf sect as a monster, Jack said to the crowd: "We must proceed with caution. Monsters may attack at any time." Some people in the group objected: "We are not Already...I thought we had...", Jack interrupted before finishing speaking, "You thought it was wrong, the monster will come at any time, it is unpredictable, waiting for us to relax our guard".

Jack is spreading fear and consolidating his leadership.

Many things are similar to "Lost", except that "Lord of the Flies" was published in 1954. This group of people are not adults, but eleven or twelve-year-old boys.

Lord of the Flies quotes

  • Tony: What are we gonna do with thieves when we catch them?

Ralph: We can't have kids stealing and just running wild. We're going to have to have stricter rules and hand out demerits... I guess.

  • Jack Merridew: Right on, Larry. When you other brats get older or get hungry enough, you can come join up, too.
