Most of the films based on American history and the history of black people fighting for freedom are not very comfortable to watch. Probably this kind of film itself is not discharged to make people feel good and comfortable.
One of the selected films of the Beijing International Film Festival. When I decided to watch this film, I didn't check too much relevant information, nor did it out of liking, but the overall interest, and the schedule was reasonable. I really watched the film, plus the introduction and analysis of the time background, almost this is a type of film that I don't like very much.
In fact, there is nothing wrong with the story itself. Under the painful era, people who are suffering. In an unequal world, the cruel hurts that become the main line are depressing. The feeling of hatred with the low temperature of the creator has almost spread throughout the film. It's hard to find out what makes people feel good. Except for the looming sex, almost all the plots are dark and don't make people breathe.
Sometimes all the encounters in a person's life are not positive, sometimes it is just so realistic. Maybe you never see justice in your life, maybe you never get mercy in your whole life, maybe you can't feel the meaning of happiness in your lifetime, or maybe once you've fallen in love, it means you won't be able to recover. Don't doubt, some people face life in this way, and they have no choice.
I don't like the rhythm of this film. It tells about a black teenager who has a lifelong entanglement with the host family. When he was young, he had the opportunity to read and write. The hostess once gave him hope, but the hope soon shattered. This kind of opportunity is not necessarily long and fleeting. Because the more you understand, the greater your heart. After adulthood, the white boy who played with him became the master's majesty, and he treated it proudly. Although it was the best and most generous, it was relatively good education, but still, black and white are different. Later, I suffered more and saw more grievances, and the black-skinned pain grew in the protagonist's heart. The fate of my wife, my children, myself, and many black people will continue to live in this rhythm day by day. He saw the white child's shackles on the black girl's neck, and the camera lingering with the black girl playing. He finally chose a glaring resistance. But killing his young playmate, who later treated him as a gentleman, is not acceptable to me. If you want to play a good person, please play to the end. The killing is for revenge, but to choose the weakest one for revenge is not because of lack of self-confidence, but because you should question your own soul. Have you ever been kind-hearted? Is your resistance to stay kind-hearted? I don't trust it.
I have seen the film and I feel so general. After checking a lot of information, it is said that the film has tampered with a lot of facts. The main creative director is the star of the film, and there are many negative information, including misconduct against white women. All of this aside, the film did not impress me too much. If sensationalism is for sensationalism, I will not be moved.
Ordinary feeling, but full of admiration for history, you can take a look at it and let it go.
