A blockbuster as plain as water

I have always had the habit of watching movies while eating dinner.
As usual, I ran into a movie called "Red Sea Turtle" that not many people knew and had no publicity.
The title of the article on AcFun had the words "Entire article without dialogue", which immediately attracted me, that's right! I just don't take the usual path like this.
The story is not complicated. It is about a dead young man who drifted to a deserted island full of bamboo forests. The island was surrounded by the sea and there were no people. Not even a ship sailed past the place. Out of loneliness, he desperately wanted to escape and return to land. The young man’s previous life is not shown in the film, it is nothing more than the same as us living on land, but I guess he may be an artist, because when he was trapped on the island and was about to die, he had hallucinations. He listened When there was a sound of music, I saw several artists sitting on the beach and playing the cello.
People are all social animals, and they have to adapt to an unfamiliar environment, let alone an uninhabited island. He frequently had hallucinations, and made a bamboo raft with bamboo on the island many times, trying to escape the endless sea. But who knows, his three escape plans were broken by the red tortoise in the sea. Out of anger and resentment, he beat the red tortoise that climbed ashore, even turned it over his back, and was finally sun-dried to death. It may be because of loneliness, self-blame, or he thinks that it is always good for no one to accompany a big turtle on this deserted island, so he desperately wants to save it. As a result, the shell of the tortoise broke when it rained one day, and a young girl crawled out of the shell. As a result, the young man and the girl fell in love and lived together on an isolated island, living the same life as ordinary people on land. They lived on their own, picking wild fruits and wild vegetables. Within a few years, having children, a family of three experienced happiness and parting. Finally, the child grew up and went to sea to broaden his horizons, leaving the two old men stuck on loneliness. The red tortoise accompanied the young man until he died and then turned into a red tortoise and dived into the deep sea.
The story is uncomplicated, or even too calm, just like a glass of plain boiled water, no wonder the words "so slow" and "can't stand it anymore" always appear on the barrage. The general tone of the story is a suffocating sense of loneliness, the deep sea, isolated islands, deserted people, the sky as the bed, the ground as the bed... all these give the audience a deep sense of loneliness, helplessness and desolation. Watching this film made me feel familiar at the beginning. I wondered if it was an animated version of "The Fantastic Drifting of Youth Pie", and some commented that it felt like "Swiss Army Knife Man". Halfway through, I abandoned these two concepts. It is "The Red Sea Turtle", which seems to be about the life of young people who survived on the desert island, but it is the life of each of us. The young man in the desert island is unfortunate, he is alone; and he is lucky to have a lover and relatives to accompany his old age in his own country.
Some people say that they have seen the shadow of "Big Fish and Begonia" and disagree. This film was jointly created by Studio Ghibli, France and the Netherlands, and won a special award at the 69th Cannes International Film Festival. Speaking of similarity to "Big Fish and Begonia", I suggest that those students watch a few more anime movies from Studio Ghibli. Some people say that the taste of Studio Ghibli is completely gone, and I disagree. From this film, the audience can still see the taste of the Ghibli movie: people and nature, love and devotion, life and death and other profound topics. Isn't this the backbone of the film made by Master Miyazaki?
It is reported that this work has been conceived for 10 years and produced for 8 years. If you watch it patiently, you will be able to understand a certain philosophy from it.
I also understand the psychology of those classmates who find this movie boring. In this fast-paced and impetuous society, there is no fascinating storyline, no funny, no so-called "climax"... It is as plain as water, but it is exactly this. As plain as water, it becomes more precious and profound. Just like you and my life, although the journey process is dull, from birth to death, the days that make up this journey are different. Those who come and go to watch the scenery, each one is well, just fine!
