This trip traveled through many countries and saw the unique and beautiful scenery, the local customs, and the beautiful rivers, mountains and sky on the roads and mountains. This is a sightseeing film. You can travel thousands of miles without going out. It is really enjoyable to appreciate the beauty.
But as a movie with a plot, a character and a story, it is lacklustre.
I really like the British style and the British gentleman's demeanor. Ford is a typical British person. He takes everything step by step, pays attention to accuracy, does a fixed thing at a fixed time, and eats a fixed thing. Every second counts. He also has his rigid stubbornness and the style of a domineering president. Although smart, the social experience is not rich enough. After all, he does not go out often. Fortunately, there are Passepartout servants. Many times along the way, Passepartout's inadvertent behavior or help resolve difficulties, but sometimes because Passepartout has more trouble. He completed this round trip, won the bet, and also won the beautiful Indian princess.
But in this movie, I think the pen and ink portrays Passepartout more. He exists like a god, knows everything and knows everything, but his image looks so cute and silly. He plays all the way and is self-defeating. Well, no matter if you don't make a book by coincidence, or carelessly, he can always turn things into trouble, but he always has a protagonist aura and the feeling that he will never fall. With his company, the journey of two people to the next three people continued smoothly. With his company, the journey has become more interesting. Otherwise, you can imagine how boring a person like Ford is to travel alone. Perhaps I enjoy the spiritual enjoyment of being alone, but it will be much worse for the presentation of the movie.
The film’s adventures are not enough, the conflicts are not obvious, it looks dull, and it is easy to feel tasteless.
The ending of the movie is a bit abrupt. Ford is inexplicably at the club, and the princess is inexplicably followed, and the play ends inexplicably.
But the animation in the last ten minutes is very interesting.
There are many romantic elements in movies, and travel itself is a romantic thing. Furthermore, various modes of travel and transportation, to different places. My favorite scene is a balloon trip. Two big men are standing, one reading the manual and the other following the instructions. When passing by the iceberg, they took a handful of ice and put it in the bucket, and then put the beer on it, and the cold beer was made. They also brought wine glasses and drank with the broad blue sky. It was so enjoyable. Passepartout played bullfighting in Spain and performing in Japan. Everything was casual and interesting.
Generally speaking, the movie is not exciting enough, but the scenery, local customs and music are beautiful.
