This is not a movie about sex addiction

I think part of the reason for such a good film is such a low score. We don’t have sex addiction. Our alcohol addiction, eating disorder, and these psychological obsessive-compulsive disorders seem not worth mentioning. In fact, this film is not about sex addiction, but everyone in the film has different addictions. We all have various addictions. Sports and healthy eating can also reach the point of obsessive-compulsive disorder. These addictions are private problems in the eyes of most Chinese people. We don’t face it ourselves (or don’t realize it), let alone sharing with others, let alone asking for help. Even if we realize the seriousness of the problem, we Probably most of them are overcome by their own willpower. Obsessive-compulsive disorder VS willpower, this sounds a bit hopeless.

Psychological problems have reasons, and we need to admit, face, and solve the things that affect us. The fact that people in the film are sick again is also a fuse. People who can easily control their lives probably won't understand, and feel that the people in the film have to vent extremes when they are sad. When the fat man was overeating, someone unexpectedly said: Isn't it greasy to eat so much sweet? . . In this world, there are different people, different willpowers, different control abilities, different feelings about the same problem, and different ways of handling and venting the problem. What about those who just can’t do? A good example of this film is: admit, reconcile, share with others, ask for help.

In the film, I want to say that there is no perfect person in the world. We should not pretend to think that we are okay, and just belittle and blame others. The seemingly powerful counselor used to be a hypocritical person, and when he was weak, he never admitted his mistakes until he was willing to admit that he was wrong and apologized to his son before he was reconciled.

Finally, the three protagonists were accepted and supported by their relatives, lovers, and friends. With them by your side, even if there will be weak times in the future, it will be easier to go out and be happy for them. I hope that there will be more such mutual aid associations in the country to give some support and understanding to those who are lonely and helpless.

Okay, I'm going to see a doctor.

Mike: I know that she is a big girl.

    Mike: Sorry about the language.

Phoebe: That's okay. I accept your fucking apology.

  • Katie: [Phoebe cries] Hey, what's wrong?

Phoebe: I just think I'm worried about this whole addict thing, you know.

    Katie: Mmm-hmmm.

Phoebe: I mean I just... Do you ever worry that you'll be just humming along and then, he's just gonna veer off back into the darkness?

Katie: In my experience, the only way that I can do this is just to keep the focus on myself.

    Phoebe: Meaning?

Katie: Meaning... ummm... What about my side of the street? What are my issues that I have to deal with? After all, I picked an addict... Says something.
