When I first saw it, I felt that the feelings of the two were too strong. When I read the original, I always feel that Juliet should be elegant and demure, Romeo should be a quiet gentleman, but in the film Juliet is passionate and lively, Romeo is eager and bold, which makes me a little dazed. But think about it, if the two are too introverted, they won't go from love at first sight to private life so quickly. Moreover, the two in the story are also very young, so it is more reasonable to be impulsive.
But there is one thing that I haven't figured out yet, that is, the image of McCusio in the film. When I was studying in the past, I always watched him enlighten Romeo, who was trapped by love, and when he saw Romeo being insulted by Tibalto, he stepped forward to fight for him. Chiusio was so funny and cynical, it really surprised me. The comforting enlightenment before the prom turned into a joke has made me a little surprised. It is also strange that the group of people can't find Romeo after the prom but still laugh and joking. It is strange that the companion disappears inexplicably while playing in the enemy's house. Later, when I ran into Tiberto on the street, I simply got into the pool, and when the two duel, it was obvious that Mercusio was still indifferent, like a joke, and ended up taking his own life. It's gone. I remember that Romeo said in the original work that he wanted to avenge the noble Maichusio, but this Maichusio didn't look noble at all, and it could even be said to have become a harlequin through and through. I don't know what it meant here. Of course, maybe it's because I didn't understand it well. Shakespeare's plays usually have one or two harlequins, but unfortunately I didn't read the reason why Mercusio played this role invisibly. Or maybe his image is closer to a harlequin, and there is no role to adjust the atmosphere in the story, so he can only play it. (Nanny can adjust the atmosphere, but she privately thinks that she is definitely not a harlequin.)
Even so, I still like this film very much. I recommend a few scenes: 1. The clash between the Capulet family and the Montague family at the opening shows the inexplicable hatred of the two incisively and vividly. 2. A group of friends, friends and dogs persuaded Romeo to go to the Capulet's dance party. There was a strong contrast between McCusio's cynicism and Romeo's sentimentality. Later, Romeo happily followed the crowd, and the child's heart was very cute. 3. In the Capulet's dance party, the two collective dances are completely different in style. The interlude is beautiful, and the lyrics appropriately summarize the theme of the film. Romeo and Juliet pursue each other's romance in their singing. 4. Juliet's monologue on the balcony at night, Olivia Hess is so beautiful. 5. Romeo and Juliet bid farewell in the early morning. The gentleness is beyond words. The most warm and beautiful moment of the two has become their last side. Romeo is reluctant to give up for Juliet's retention, and Juliet is affectionate for Romeo's life. And decisive and touching.
Finally, there is a small bug. The mask of the singing artist during the dance will be worn on the face for a while and disappear for a while, but it does not affect the whole thing.
