Solitude and eternity under the moonlight

For a while, I really liked vampire-themed movies. I watched a lot. Vampire Hunter D is one of my two favorites.

The background of the story is set in the distant future, the pictures are exquisite and detailed, and the soundtrack and atmosphere rendering are just right. At the beginning of the film, fragments of Gothic castles floating in space, cold weapons such as crossbows and long swords and high-tech hot weapons, gorgeous castle sculptures and steel-framed buildings, European classical and modern interstellar styles coexist but do not violate.

Just talk about some of my plots in the film.

D's appearance.
From far to near, one hand easily broke the approaching short arrow, and then the cloak spread out like a bat's wings under the moon, and the pale and handsome face under the black wide-brimmed top hat. Gorgeous and mysterious D.

The love between Mael and Charlotte.
One is a vampire aristocrat who can only live in the dark night, where everything is withered, the roses wither instantly, and the cross is decadent; the other is a beautiful human girl bathed in sunlight, full of vitality like flowing spring water and lush green trees. This combination is destined to be a poignant love tragedy.
In addition to not being accepted by the world, the love between vampires and humans has to endure a lot. Marel and Charlotte were in the carriage. His sight touched Charlotte’s beautiful white neck, and the blood exuded a sweet and seductive breath. He loved her, so he didn’t want her to suffer from being a vampire. The darkness and loneliness of eternal life. She also loves him, so she prefers to become a vampire by his side forever. If the tragedy can be foreseen, the destruction together under the scorching sun seems to be a very happy ending.

The agreement between D and Layla.
When I die, send me a flower. The relationship between D and Layla is that a stranger who meets on the water is also a friend of sympathy. The final ending D came to fulfill their agreement, and then left quietly, just like when he appeared.

The child who was rescued by D.
As a hybrid of vampires and humans, D is neither recognized by vampires nor accepted by humans. However, D's cold and beautiful appearance still retains the kindness and warmth in his heart. The child who was saved by D many years ago still remembers that he was still grateful for him to stand up and protect him. This is probably the reason why D is still kind to humans.

Liberty City.
Charlotte still became a victim of Camilla's resurrection conspiracy. Does the unbiased Night Capital really exist? At the end of the end, Layla, who originally hated vampires, shed tears and cried out, so no matter how far they are, Mael and Charlotte will definitely reach the longing city of freedom.

PS, after watching the dubbing in Japanese and English, each has its own advantages. Japanese seems to be closer to the characters, especially the dubbing of D.

Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust quotes

  • D: It may be too late for her. Your sister may already have been tempted. What then?

Alan Elbourne: You have to get there before that happens, what do you think we're paying you for?

John Elbourne: That's enough!... My son is emotional, please excuse him. This has been difficult for all of us. If you knew my daughter, you'd understand. She's kind and beautiful, and her loss is more than this old soul can bear. Now, I need to ask you something: if you find her changed, can you see that her death is without suffering. Be kind to her, please.

Alan Elbourne: No! No, we can't do that! It isn't right! No, she won't be changed! You're talking about your own daughter!

John Elbourne: Alan, listen to me. It's not easy to ask him for this, but it's something that must be done. I'm sorry. Do you understand?

  • D: Stop right there, Meier. I'm taking her back, back to her family who loved her.

Meier Link: She knew I loved her best of all. You can't understand it. You've never loved a human.

D: I've never killed one, either.
