Still quite shocking

Merry Christmas, the first 15 minutes can make you feel the horror of war. After that, it started to drag, especially around the artist Teto. But then it became more and more interesting, and from time to time there were plots that shocked you, making you unable to guess all the plots, and they came too suddenly. I always thought that the Christmas truce was the end of the movie, but it was quite wrong... The opponents were shooting at each other one moment, and the next moment they sat together to sing, drink, and play cards to celebrate Christmas Eve. And these things really happened. Hey, after all, in 1914, the war had just begun, and people did not understand why the war was fought for no reason. It would be impossible if this happened in 1916. 4-star recommendation, rushing to the plot.

The contrast between the two fairies at the beginning is very eye-catching

The title is very common. This refers to the 2006 French anti-war film directed by Christian Cassillon. The film is adapted from a warm and true event in the early days of World War I. The two warring parties suddenly put down their weapons during Christmas and celebrated the holiday together. Of course, these officers and soldiers were punished and transferred from the government. Although the ending notes that the event is fictitious, in fact most of the details can be found in historical prototypes, including the cat’s funny knot

Joyeux Noel quotes

  • Horstmayer: I heard last night about your wife. If you like, I can get a letter through to her.

Lieutenant Audebert: Why would you do that? If you got caught...

Horstmayer: [scoffs] One letter won't stop us winning the war. And anyhow, when we'll have taken Paris and it's over, you can invite us for a drink in Rue Vavin.

Lieutenant Audebert: You don't have to invade Paris to drop round for a drink.

  • Gordon: We were talking about a cease fire, for Christmas Eve. What do you think? The outcome of this war wont be decided tonight. I don't think anyone would criticize us for laying down our riffles on Christmas Eve.
