Tragedy

Every genius and innocent teenager has a dream of "making the world a better place" in his heart, but few people still have that kind of passion after accepting the baptism of the real society... I always feel that Aaron Swatz's tragedy and Turing There is a certain similarity between them, living in their respective free worlds, but being crushed by stupid laws by the huge state machinery, overwhelmed and chose to leave (Although Turing is still doubtful whether he committed suicide, at least I think this is more likely condition).
I think the biggest mistake of Aaron is that seeing a world that can be made better but not seeing the reason why this world has not become better, not seeing the selfishness, greed, fear, and cowardice in human nature, all hindering the change of this world. The beautiful and powerful force did not anticipate the dangers they faced.
The first martyr hero in the Internet age is gone. I wonder if it will be the last one. In this era, the power of individuals may no longer be able to compete with the government or consortia, but the examples of SOPA and PIPA show how great the effects of the power of every ordinary citizen will be if they are combined. Maybe the future belongs to anonymous, we are everyone, we are anyone. But maybe sometimes, everyone will look forward to the appearance of a hero.
Aaron Swatz will be remembered forever.
